Snapshot 1.0.303.37 - Beta Candidate with Thumbnail improvements

I gotta say, tho, it shouldn't be possible to have two files of the same name in the same folder. Are you sure both the file name and extension are exactly the same? Windows doesn't allow that.
-
Nope.

Large gap between NEW TAB button and TRASH icon. Could this be tightened up?

Can anyone else add to this experience:-
I have just started receiving 'dubious', un-solicited emails, referencing vivaldi.
This IS new, has anyone else experienced this?
Is there 'information leakage' occurring?

Ditto here have no idea if so but lately have been getting a ton of same. I blocked IP addresses then had to go to URL because they started using *.party, *.win, *.download on and on.**Update edit:
I doubt it is coming from Viv on me. Checked my profile and it is being sent to my REAL "personal" email NOT my single use encrypted address where I can KNOW where leakage is occurring. Must be a friends computer is infected with robo malware…aggravating sorry.

I wish they would draw and quarter these guys. -
Uninstalling doesn't remove the user files. And why wouldn't Win10 let you delete it? Do you not have admin privileges? Did you have Vivaldi open at the time? At worst, if you were to uninstall it, you should then be able to delete the folders and start over again.

Hmm, my grouped/tiled tabs now show up as individual, standalone tabs when I restart Vivaldi.
Win10x64 Vx32: Confirmed
On a side-note: these short-lived Vivaldi.net sessions drive me nuts!
Edit: for whatever reason, this post has been appended at the end instead of being added inline at the right context

May I add that I for one appreciate the consideration, as I daily type Japanese on Vivaldi.

w8.1 x86_64, update vivaldi - close and restart - installing - appcrash - relaunch - appcrash - relaunch - appcrash - close - wait one minute - start vivaldi - version updated but no opened tabs, no thumbnails on speeddial ((
-
feature request: firefox is able to recover lost tabs (when app crashes - restore closed windows), would like the same
-
I have a 2-tab stack, and a 3-tab stack. The 2-tab was unstacked on restart, and the 3-tab came thru intact on restart.

1. This might be a browser engine bug: but datalist elements don't work in web panels.
Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opQg6AYGKuQ
And you can try it here: http://www.coreymwamba.co.uk/testbed/datalist.html
2. Feature request: import of client certificates?
-
Yes, I deleted the top sites file just after installation of this snapshot. Lost my thumbs two times after that.
-
@pesala: And that's exactly the problem: Why can't the configuration be set independent of the window size and overall zoom level, open to adjustment by the user? The way it is now is much like Opera webkit, which is not pleasant to use when there are a bunch of thumbnails (four large ones to a row, no matter what the setting unless one goes full screen or thereabouts). Is this a chromium limitation?
-
Cannot confirm
-
Not on this build it isn't on my system
Win 7, x64.
-
The gap will be even bigger if you open only a few tabs. I agree that it's a usability issue. In Opera 12.17 I moved the Trash can to the Tab Bar Floating Toolbar, so it's always to the left of the new tab button, however many tabs are open.
-
You asked why only four thumbnails would fit, and I explained the reason. On most desktop PCs six thumbs will fit at 100% UI Zoom, which is about right.
Other refinements to the speed dial will no doubt come in due course, but this blog is not the right place to discuss the topic. Opera 33 already has a much better implementation of speed dial, but that has been developing since Opera 15. Vivaldi is a relatively new kid on the block.

I like the idea! And while you're at it, please add an "Stack with active tab" option when right clicking on a background tab as well.

[Windows 8.1, Vivaldi 1.0.303.37 (32-Bit), tabs on top]
Had a bug at home on my Asus EeePC 1000h (ancient, I know; resolution is 1024x600) where no tab was visible anymore after exiting fullscreen mode. The whole tab bar was empty except for the trash bin and the "+" icon. No page was closed though. And all the tabs reappeared on the tab bar after I added a new tab. I was able to reproduce it reliably (had only 3 tabs open: 2 x heise.de and this blog) on my EeePC. Here at work all works fine… -
just saying "thank you" to staff, the previous beta candidate I couldn't use because it took my cpu % very high and the browser freezes. I am using this build no problems
