Snapshot 1.0.252.3 - Typed history dropdown, more polish on Web-panels and Extensions… and smooth scrolling
-
Can we check we are talking about the same thing? Please load this blog page and try pressing the HOME key followed by the END key. Then restart Vivaldi using that switch. Now repeat the exercise. Do you still see no difference?
-
How about leaving it at 2 rows and making a button to hide and show it all?
-
Download and install the latest Flash version for your OS from here: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Close all browsers before install.
After that: Click on the Vivaldi Button > Tools > Plugins page and look if it is installed and activated. If it is not activated: Activate it.If it doesn't work after you did that, something else is broken, because it should work after that.

Maybe I should ask that on forum, but if possible I'd like some clarification on how to give as good feedback as possible. For example, should I fill bug reports for bugs I see but were never mentioned in this blog? Should I report bugs I find out myself and write about them in snapshot comments? Should I take for granted that vivaldi team is aware of all bugs mentioned in comments here? When commenting on a bug in comments here, how specific information should be provided? Is it expected for all bug reports and/or comments, to be on a clean install with all extensions disabled (where bugs are not related to extensions)?
I know it looks like lots of questions, but I don't (necessary) expect a long answer.
Just something so I'm (we) are not completely in the dark.Keep up the good work!

Home, end, pageup, pagedown, up and down keys work as expected now, thanks. Mousewheel scrolling is smoothed out, though. I guess that's what caused (part of) the confusion. Sorry to have been a bother!
-
You quoted my answer, to your question.
-
One more step
Please complete the security check to access vivaldi.comi have no idea what was wrong with your server. can't update either online or via your download link..
-
No bother at all. Happy we got there in the end!
-
No. VB-8548 describe that when clicking on the '+', the menu opens to add a web panel, but you can close it by clicking anywhere else.
Yours is another bug, that you should fill in.

Yay! Extra build! Gotta love you guys! Platonic love, though…
But wait, if this is an extra build, does it mean we'll still have a new build Monday?!
-
I welcome smooth scrolling. But the current implementation is really bad.
It's slow, and the speed does not adjust depending on how much you have scrolled.Opera 12 is the only smooth scrolling browser I know of, that have addressed these issues.
-
Do you highlight the bookmark first? If I try to drag a bookmark I have problems, if I highlight it first then move it it works as expected.
-
We have had further fixes internally since this build so unless we hit a problem I don't see why we shouldn't try to get a build out to you guys on Monday.
-
Heh, I like the message that appears during the cleansing of history.
And a bug: starting the browser all my miniatures on the SpeedDial are displayed as empty instead of pictures. -
Great! Now I can delete the smooth scroll extension from Vivaldi! Now I'm waiting when I can also delete the rss reader and e-mail-manager extensions!
-
You can always duplicate User Data folder to have all of settings, bookmarks, notes and etc.
-
I'll add it as an issue for us to consider. Can not promise if and when.
-
One thing we consider is an option to hide the title and button area. Perhaps from the context menu.
-
Uninstalled and reinstalled Vivaldi and all things Flash.
Still the same issue. I didn't mention it before, but it doesn't show up on the Vivaldi plugin page either -
Regarding Web Panels: with sites implementing responsiveness by dedicated URLs, how can I avoid redirect from the mobile to the desktop offering?
Thanks,
someone
