Hi, you can check Closed Tabs in the windows panel.
Do you have Automatic Session Backup enabled?

@mib2berlin They are not in there, I saw a similar post today but they were of no use as well, with the whole sessions and sessions storage.
Both the folder only have the data of today (few hours ago when I started the computer) I also tried to sync data but did not work.
Really wanted to curse the devs right now tbh. Very frustrating

Hi again, we get some reports from users since 6.9 but this is hard to reproduce. I never lost anything in Vivaldi since Vivaldi 1.0.
The developer are aware of this issue.
If you use sync, log out and change your device name, login and check if you can find your "old" device in the window panel > Synced Tabs.
Clean up you Vivaldi, cache and so forth and make a backup, enable Auto Session saving.
I backup all my important data, crash, power loss, etc. can destroy anything.

          Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Well for me this happened multiple times already (3rd times to be exact). That is why it is extremely frustrating.
The first 2 times were not very important and I made several reports to the devs.
But now this is just ridiculous.
Anw tks for your time, I looked up all the folders and found nothing useful and decided to move on (for the 3rd time).

Do you use any cleaning software?
It was repeated reported CCleaner wipe Vivaldi user data, for example.

The session file names change every day, so a screen snapshot won't help you. The first thing you need to do is make a backup copy of the \Sessions folder because Vivaldi deletes old sessions files on a regular basis.

You don't say whether you make external backups of your \Default folder, or any folder for that matter.

All I can tell you is that what you want to look for are session files in the \Sessions folder that pre-date the time that your saved tabs disappeared. If that doesn't exist, and you don't have backups, then I would say you are probably out of luck.

Assuming you do have a sessions file of significant size, then you would want to make a copy of that file in the \Sessions folder, and then rename it to match the file name that has zero bytes. Of course, you'll have to delete the zero byte file before you perform the renaming process.

Again, stop now. Make a backup of the \Sessions folder. Exit Vivaldi, then do what I said regarding the file renaming.

It shouldn't be rocket science. A zero byte file indicates no saved tabs. The file(s) with the latest time/date stamp is what Vivaldi will use. But you can't do this operation if Vivaldi is already open/running.

                  Good luck.

Also, I would turn on AUTOMATIC session saving from your sidebar if I were you, going forward.

@ChinoKafuu Files with zero-byte length are broken and can be deleted.
In Vivaldi you can open each session file stored in Sessions\ folder by Vivaldi menu File → Open Saved Session.
                    https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tabs/session-management/

That will give you back Workspaces if you reopen them in Sessions Panel.

@instrumentally Yeah thats one of the weird thing for me. I copied the whole folder Session and session storage outside, but the files for sessions and tabs are all like new.
The old one somehow just got deleted with no backup, so the newest ones are from the moment I start the laptop and open the browser @@
