Vivaldi 6.6 RC 1 – Vivaldi Desktop Browser snapshot 3271.39/41
-
@mib2berlin Until Vivaldi 6.3 or 6.4, you could go to the Chromium’s cookies list (
chrome://settings/content/all
) and manage the cookies stored by domains from there.Starting with V6.3 or 6.4, this list is now empty and unusable, even if cookies are still stored (you can see them and delete them from the own Vivaldi’s privacy settings).
@TD4 wants to be able to manage cookies from the Chromium’s page again (and I’d like it, too).
That aside: nobody had tested to see if this command line still works with the new theme option for dark mode in Web pages?

@Hadden89
The new profiles would have threading on by default. Just want to make absolutely sure that your button looks like
If on the other hand it looks like this
then threading is turned offOtherwise: You could either try to delete an account and set it up again on your main profile to see it that changes it.
Third option is to delete your db (if you have everything in imap accounts then everything should come back except saved filters and feeds)... but before you do that I'd like to ask you about the db and maybe get you to check whether the threading stuff there has disappeared. -
@trit34
Hi, iirc this was removed from the Vivaldi developer because of privacy issues.
The /content/all page need a feature connect to Google server.
I read about some time ago so I am not sure about, I hope other users have a better memory.Cheers, mib

Nice, it's good to see some speed dial love, maybe add an icon for folders.
How do i "backup your settings before upgrading", is there a function for that?
-
@iPristy
Hi and no but we have a feature request for export/import settings since 2018.
The easiest way is to backup your profile and iirc there is no archive for snapshots.
So keep the last working snapshot install binary on your disk.
I update stable automatically, snapshots sometimes a few days later manually, since version 1.0 without any serious issues but I reset my snapshot profile many many times since then.
It's just a test version, I test often and to get a clean state I reset often.Cheers, mib
EDIT: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24801/export-import-for-user-settings -
@gmg Threading is on
and I already tried removing and re-add back the accounts. No dice.
About filters... I've already exported the "rulesets" in a note, so not a big issue (and I don't use feeds).
Yes, all accounts are IMAP
@mib2berlin I always consider that ^^ But is fun to think that a mailDB created as new on the default profile and built after the one on profile2 is already somewhat damaged in some way.
The site content is linked to google privacy sandbox which is enforced off in vivaldi. Perhaps cookies will be managable within vivaldi ui, but i also think chromium is doing changes in cookie data structure, so it could delay the things..

Hello!
I installed the 6.6.3271.41 on a clean Windows 11.
When I click on the file link (site http://), nothing happens.
Only when I click «Save Link As» with popup menu in the Downloads appears question «Keep or Discard» -
@anyperson What file link? Do you mean the icon for the shortcut to the executable?
-
@ayespy: Any file, *.docx, for example. I just clarified in the post above, that site is http.
-
@anyperson that's a known bug since the change to chromium core 122.
first mentioned here: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/95062/7-zip-downloads-blockedreported as VB-103937 7-Zip Downloads Fail Silently
-
@anyperson
Hi, .... and it is fixed internal already.
It should be fixed in the next stable Vivaldi 6.6 we get soon.Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin: Thank you for the good news!
-
Thank you for the update
-
@trit34 The reason that page is blank now is that everything on it is now conditioned on "Privacy Sandbox" functionality that we have disabled completely.
-
I think we need a patched Vivaldi with new Chromium 122 core as new security issues came up.
