Web Whatsapp keeps crashing after the last update.
-
Steps to reproduce the defect:
- Open what's app browser
- Open any chat that has images or Gif's.
- The whole page is getting crashed and it's showing a tree logo in the center.
This isn't happening when we use the what's app in other browsers like chrome or Edge.
Please look at this bug and rectify,
i support you guys in creating this awesome browser in all the way. -

Hi, there are several threads about already, WhatsApp has change something and images created with iPhone/iPad leads Vivaldi tab to crash. Other user report slowdown in a WhatsApp web panel.
Against better knowledge there are many WhatsApp users out there and the Vivaldi developer know about the problem.
I guess a fix is coming soon.Cheers, mib

I'm getting the same kind of problem, in Whatsapp I can open any conversation except one with my daughter, which immediately gives me the dead bird thing.
Works fine on my phone.
Now if I click on a conversation with my wife the (Whatsapp) screen just goes blank and white, so something is only affecting certain conversations.

@biggly Do these chats contain videos created on a iPhone? I know about such aready reported bug.
-
@DoctorG Not sure, as far as I know all my friends are using Android but it's possible.
Edit: have submitted bug report with crash logs
-
The WhatsApp problem did not occur directly after the last Vivaldi update, but a few days later because WhatsApp changed something.
It's probably better to continue her.
Otherwise there will be two threads on the same topic. -
Também estou com o mesmo problema, desinstalei e instalei o Vivaldi com o Revo e mesmo assim o erro persiste.

Hey!
I've just downloaded Vivaldi and found a bug.
When I'm using WhatsApp web and tried to copy and paste an image into a contact chat, it didn't paste the imagem and don't let me see the chat again. It keeps showing a dead bird icon and I can't use that specific chat.If I refresh the page, I can access the whatsapp as usually.. but If I click to open the contact chat I tried to paste the image, it shows again the dead bird icon.
Vivald is up to date (V: 5.4.2753.40)

@DoctorG Cool thread, but I didn't see any solution for this. Am I missing something?
I saw you talking about iPhone/iPad images, but the img that made my Vivald WhatsApp Web crash came from a simple print screen on my computer.
For what I've understand in the thread, Vivald don't know how to solve this issue, right?

@garay92
Hi, there is no solution until the Vivaldi developer fix this.
As a crash bug is mostly easier to fix than other bugs I guess we get a fix sooner than later.Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin Thanks! I manage to solve this by using whatsapp via side bar menu instead of new tab. It seems to be working that way.
I've also tried to copy and paste an image in this side bar and it didn't crash.

I get the same error when I click on the story on whatsapp and instagram.
