Sending/Syncing Tabs between devices not working

@personalproxy: I do not remember which version it was, but in my case sending tabs from Android to Desktop worked fine in some version. I do not exactly know when it broke, but I miss the functionality since some 5.x version, I guess...

Still doesn't work for me. Windows to Windows.

It is 2 months ago that I submitted a bug to Vivaldi team (Jira - VB-86760) but till today (after several updates of the browser), I never got any feedback and it is not fixed yet.
When I send a webpage to my other pc (always logged in and synced) I don't receive the notification anymore.
Is this a knowm problem or is it just not a priority?
I use(d) this feature a lot and I miss it.

@rydeck Your report is a duplicate of this bug: VB-86883 "Send tab to windows device does not send tab" - confirmed, but no progress for a fix.

I can confirmed it is broken in 5.3.2679.38.

@ThinkerBe: I used the Snapshot version, but as the problems were not fixed there I hoped that a new update to the Stable version would bring some sort of positive influence in this direction - hence I currently use stable version 5.3.2679.38, but as @DoctorG mentioned, I also can confirm it is still broken therein...

I was thinking about downloading Vivaldi today and I decided not to because of this thread -- well, because "send tab to [device]" is a feature I use all the time on Firefox and Chrome. Hope to see this ironed out soon so I can give this browser a try.

I also discovered problems with sync before 5.3. The current bug reports opened for sync issues are:

@profoundish: Well, this is one of my major "issues" also of using Vivaldi at all times, not switching between it and Firefox. There are some other not-so-nice things I would also like to see in Vivaldi, but those are not as "important" as this one here...

@patrickweiden Yes, the broken sending between devices is really a disturbing issue.
I try to ask a dev/sync server admin why this happens. -
@DoctorG: Thank you very much for this. I was already wondering why Vivaldi has sync problems, but other Chromium-based browsers (e.g., Brave, which I tested) do not have sync problems. It must be something Vivaldi-specific, but I do not know whether it is a browser- (frontend-) or sync server- (backend-) -based issue...
