Hm, interesting. If it's a matter of Settings then I really am nonplussed as to what I'm doing wrong! I suppose I'll have to beg assistance in the Vivaldi for Windows sub-forum on that front to be certain on that front. Thanks for checking; sorry for the bother.

@ayespy I can reproduce it by middle-clicking a bookmark in the panel or on the bookmark bar while an accordion tab-stack is active. The bookmark opens in a new background tab outside of the stack.

Cheers for giving it another once-over; it's much appreciated. I should have made it explicit that I was speaking with regard to Two-level Tab Stacks. I recorded a GIF demonstration (fresh profile) in the Windows support thread of the behavior I went ahead and wrote in the interim, though that's probably moot; I'm sure your attestation is more sufficient.

Progress regarding:
VB-79240 (regression for the bookmarks tree search)

It's been about a year and the feature isn't working in stable despite having the option for tree search in bookmarks context menu settings
