Sounds like a security measure being taken by your OS. Windows 8 used to do something like that to me running a music player that I loaded with scripts. If you remove the hook files, the install should load again since no files are replaced. Could look into your OS security settings but I can't help you with that since I'm not on a Mac

promptly fixed already -
Hi, first post here!
I'm a little dazzled with the possibilities, but couldn't get the scripts to work on a Mac.
Downloaded the zip, copied everything (except browser.html) inside the app, started it... but nothing happened, even after I chmod all files. No changes in the Settings screen, or any of the expected behaviorsAny idea what I might be forgetting?
The only funny thing I found is that the {instdir} is a little different than the one mentioned.
There is no "Versions" folder inside "Contents", so no "/Applications/Vivaldi.app/Contents/Versions/{version}/Vivaldi Framework.framework/Resources"
It's actually "/Applications/Vivaldi.app/Contents/Frameworks/Vivaldi Framework.framework/Versions/{version}/Resources"
But it has nothing to do with anything, I know.Any help would be greatly appreciated. At the very least, autocomplete-domain, would be a huge improvement.
Thanks in advance

@wagedu You need to modify
browser.html
to load the mod. You didn’t mention it so I assume this could be your issue. -
@luetage Thanks for pointing it out!!
I definitely misunderstood its necessity, thanks a lot!! -
@luetage EDIT: "bookmarks" mod isn't working
I tried the 2 first ones (autocomplete-domain.js and bookmarks-button.js) and only Autocomplete seems to work (for me)For Bookmarks
- "Separate button": the icon appears to the left of the address bar, but clicking it does nothing. It only "blinks" the shadow over the Panels menu.
Even if I disable "separate button" and choose - "Right click on "Add Bookmark": it doesn't work either. Right clicking on the "add bookmark" icon to the right does nothing.
I even removed Vivaldi and its associated folders and made a new clean installation without extensions or anything. Same result for Bookmarks mod: it appears... but not clickable.
So, anyone has any ideas as to why?
Thanks in advance!
PS: Version 4.1.2369.11 on a Mac
- "Separate button": the icon appears to the left of the address bar, but clicking it does nothing. It only "blinks" the shadow over the Panels menu.

Ok, I'll go on as I get more info:
now I notice that sometimes Vivaldi freezes on right clicks. The cursor starts spinning and it may take over 30" to work again. Twice I had to Force Quit.
So, there's probably some connection to it (right-mouse click) not working with the bookmarks-button.js
Any ideas? -
@guigirl The upstream version should already work with vertical tabs. There’s one problem, though:
min: 30, // Less than 30 seems to have no effect
but I don’t remember if I checked this fact with vertical tabs as well.

If it's already close to 30
IIRC it is exactly 30.
even in the unlikely event that i manage to find it.
Your only problem is (should be) that you have an out-of-date version of the file,
tab-size.js
. -
@guigirl I’ve just checked if that comment I quoted above is still true – it is, but only for horizontal tabs. If you edit that line, it should allow you to make the tabs smaller (but I guess you’ll have to do this edit on every VH update).
Yep, you're right [of course] -- i edited the 30 to 22 & relaunched, but it made no difference. Rats.
You have to change the setting after making the edit.
-
I like "Small Vert Pinned Tabs" very much:
-
@guigirl The latter is enough, the former only modifies default settings [before you first change them]. But then [after saving the changes and restarting V] you have to go to settings and move the relevant sliders.
-
A note: "Small Vert Pinned Tabs" cannot be moved and the order cannot be changed.
Update: The above problem is not so true, the pinned tabs can be moved, but it is a bit of a hassle.
-
Another hint: the selected tab will not be centered with the mod "Small Vert Pinned Tabs":
-
@stardepp Doesn’t happen here. The dragging is not perfect, but I doubt it’s worth trying to solve it, because the improvement would be minimal and (as I see it) pinned tabs are usually reordered only right after being pinned.
@guigirl Ah, I could’ve thought of that. Minimum = how far it can go when the bar is getting full; maximum = how far it can go when the bar is almost empty. Or at least it should be like that. Re last screenshot, I’d say that 20px is just too little w/o additional CSS.

I just installed Vivaldi Hooks and am using it for the tree line spacing; it's great! Thank you @den_po
I made a change to the scroll bar width because I have trouble picking a thinner scroll bar due to a mobility disability. It works but the little triangles above and below the scroll bar aren't centered horizontally on the scroll bar; this is ugly.
Could you make a hook too allow us to control the scroll bar width?

How do I get this to work? I set Vivaldi as default browser and ran the bat, but I see no changes. Do I have to do something more?
-
Here's what I did:
- Downloaded the Vivaldi hooks .zip file to a directory I would leave alone, and unzipped the archive into it.
- Closed Vivaldi.
- Right-clicked on the .bat file in the above directory and ran it as administrator.
- Start Vivaldi and go settings to choose the desired hook.
- Done.

I didn't realise I had to find a section called Hooks in Settings. Thank you!

@mouravieffantiableism You're welcome; I'm glad you got it.
