@catweazle: Human rights (included free speech) are rights for human, but not companies like Vivaldi!
-
@bongyi , the universal human rights and the right to free speech, precisely implies Vivaldi, with users from all over the world and who watches over their privacy and security. Who obviously does not support it is who criticizes this.
Vivaldi is neutral regarding political or / and religious orientations, but being against human rights violations, hatred and violence is above this and is incumbent on everyone. -
Any mod can move these messages to this thread, if you do not want to delete them?

@catweazle: I think Vivaldi (and others companies) not know anything about human rights, hatred etc. They follow one rule: make profit.Their abstract rules and policies ridiculous things and aren't in same weight with human rights. Every person have morality and conscience by birth, but companies haven't. Paradox situation there is: companies rehearse so to do as if would be some other way. It is a manipulation. They want to say to human what is good or bad. I don't accept it from they. And it not depends on that I agree with them [or not] in a question.

I see people who commented days ago but I recieved this update as a mail today. Why was it delayed? I may note that I have not yet used my computer in couple days
-
@oSumAtrIX probably they don't mass email everyone with an account here at the same time, but in batches, so someone gets the announcement later.
-
@iAN-CooG So you think they do it manually? :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes: Also, I think only those who have Technical Updates ticked in their V-dot-net settings will receive such emails.
-
@potmeklecbohdan not manually of course, but in limited number batches, it can be scheduled in 100 at a time, pause some minutes, repeat.
-
@bongyi wrong, there are many companies that support human rights and anti-racism, even making it evident in their ads. Benneton, without going any further. This has nothing to do with a certain political orientation, but with coexistence and humanity.Being indifferent to violence and xenophobia may even have as a result a negative impression by the users who suffer from these humanitarian blots.

It's funny how people always fall under the classic trap of trolls, feeding them. Their purpose is always the same, extruding people into unrestrained anger as we saw with the case of AgentX. Whose loss was it in the end?

Well the posts that got AgentX banned were in reply to me. So your implication is therefore directed at me? There was nothing "troll" like about my 2 posts (which still remain). Their own salacious self-righteousness is what wound them up. Don't make excuses nor lay blame at the feet of others for someone else's own behaviour.
If you want to try and have a civil discourse over this matter, then we can do that in the appropriate thread (which again, this is not).

Please get your facts straight first and then read the part in the Code of Conduct about "counting to 10 before you write", thanks, have a good night.

That post did not get them banned, which is why I was able to respond to it. It was in fact their subsequent responses to me that escalated and led to their removal. As you can clearly see with their remaining posts being in response to mine. As a matter of fact, their responses to me were removed and they re-posted them. That is what led to their removal from this site, and I know this because I saw it in real time. So if your implication is that their anger led to their removal, then I am a part of that.
Edit: I find it dismissive to call @bongyi a troll simply for exercising an opinion that differs and was nowhere near as inflammatory as the person who got banned
-
@sjudenim Let me make this clear. It was not specifically a response to @sjudenim that caused the ban. The user's comments were becoming increasingly intemperate, and one response (prior to @sjudenim 's comments) drew a flag and an edit. I personally edited that response to remove language in violation of the community Code of Conduct and then the user came back to that comment and re-edited it to make it ten times worse than the original. A user flagged that edit, and that caused the ban. @sjudenim was not involved in that exchange, though the cumulative effects of the user's replies (to everyone) was also a factor. Of course, at no point was the user's opinion a factor - only the user's conduct.

I was in the middle of writing my own clarification, but @Ayespy was faster, as usual.
So, I'm only going to add that the very post that you were replying to was already violating the CoC and the only reason for which you were able to reply to that, is that there was no mod at the time to take the appropriate action. The subsequent responses were actually toned down, compared to the previous posts, although it doesn't really matter at this point and I don't think we need to discuss it any further.
-
Thank you for that. That was my point, that they became increasingly belligerent. Also, I don't know if I was the only one, but I did flag that profane post
-
@sjudenim FWIW, I flagged it too for it was blatantly offensive.
-
I've jus logged in to say: Thank you!
