@Robbo Well, your post looked like 📣"Letz Rant a Vivaldi". Yeah, ranting is nice, can reduce frustration, but does not help after anger is gone. You will still sit disappointed in front of your PC.

Quality of free software can range, Vivaldi does not fulfil your needs and you expected a better product, i see. Sad, but we do no force you to praise a browser. I hope Vivaldi will be the product you will chose again later if it suits you better. Or you report bugs and help to make Vivaldi better. As you like.

@Calapine Try to reset settings:

Open Settings → Keyboard → scroll down and hit "Restore Default Keys", and restart Vivaldi. Open Settings → Appearance → Menu → Menu customisation → select "Vivaldi Button Menu" , hit "Restore Default Menu" , select "Vivaldi Horizontal Menu", scroll down and hit "Restore Default Menu",
and restart Vivaldi.

or per tab with the padlock icon.

@w00kie You don't have plugins, you have extensions.

In order to "rule them out" you need to actually uninstall them - as disabling them often leaves a background process running, which can interfere.

If a clean profile works as expected, then you have likely ruled one or more extension IN, not out.

I can confirm this, after half a day of not being able to use my favourite browser i found this thread, thanks to OP i found the culprit. Was so happy to finally have my team's shared calendars in Vivaldi and then noticed a constant 100% load from Vivaldi (noticed bc my battery drained way faster than usual).

Tested with stable v5.4 and then also with snapshot v5.5, both have the same problem... as soon as the shared calendars are unticked here https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/syncselect (don't forget to refresh the calendars in vivaldi) CPU usage goes back to normal levels...

It's a real pity, hope this can get fixed soon @eggert

EDIT: also noticed, this is in a forum where it might not get enough attention, I'm on an M1 Macbook (which is of course ARM as well...), but this will affect a lot of people, maybe there is an issue in your internal bug-tracker already for this? an update would be appreciated.

@grasgaute What you need is the internal password page, open chrome://settings/passwords and you will find the site listed where password were never saved.

Create a bookmark, edit the bookmark URL to chrome://settings/passwords and you will have fast access to the page.
