Giant Vivaldi Icon Appears on Launch
-
I'm using the Vivaldi flatpak and every time I launch Vivaldi, another window opens up that is just a giant, immovable, Vivaldi logo.
I use Gnome.
It can be closed in the panel, but otherwise you can't move it or do anything with it.

@mtwb Hi. Welcome to the Vivaldi community.
I do not use the Flatpak, but I would suggest reporting this as a bug. Include the screenshots with your report, as well as the link to this thread. Also, post the bug report number (VB-xxxxxx) in this thread.

@mtwb Could you start
xprop
from the terminal and click on that window. Then report back what the WM_CLASS states. -
Actually it might also be interesting to see what it reports for WM_WINDOW_ROLE and _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE as well.

@mtwb
Hello,
Welcome to the 'Vivaldivers', to the Linux Lounge.Nice that you are here now too
Have fun with the browser, the forum here and maybe also on Vivaldi's 'Mastodon' instance social.vivaldi.net

@Ruarí Is there a way to do that on Wayland? I'm unsure of the wayland alternative to xprop
-
@mtwb I'm not using the flatpak version (or any flatpaks)
to know if I'm 100% correct/edit: it states "Legacy windowing system" so I probably am\ , but considering that on Wayland V. uses Xwayland by default (that is if you haven't manually changed the--ozone-platform-hint
flag)xprop
should work on it.
