@Gif2D chrome://settings/security → Manage certificates

@other I counted the tires. It’s a unicycle.
-
@luetage And it is a "Look Ma! My High Speed Car. No working brakes."

[0531/184738.087:ERROR:file_io_win.cc(181)] CreateFile C:\Program Files (x86)\settings.dat: Access is denied. (0x5)
I get this in the debug log:
[0214/200108.857:ERROR:file_io_win.cc(181)] CreateFile D:\bin\Vivaldi-snapshot\User Data\Crashpad\settings.dat: The system cannot find the path specified. (0x3)
So why does it think your Crashpad location is in Program Files x86, that's the question
And the file exists in Crashpad, output from procmon:
18:21:08,7284960 vivaldi.exe 6332 CreateFile D:\bin\Vivaldi-snapshot\User Data\Crashpad\settings.dat SUCCESS 18:21:08,7285340 vivaldi.exe 6332 QueryEAFile D:\bin\Vivaldi-snapshot\User Data\Crashpad\settings.dat SUCCESS 18:21:08,7285804 vivaldi.exe 6332 LockFile D:\bin\Vivaldi-snapshot\User Data\Crashpad\settings.dat SUCCESS 18:21:08,7286073 vivaldi.exe 6332 ReadFile D:\bin\Vivaldi-snapshot\User Data\Crashpad\settings.dat SUCCESS

Chrome 126 also supports cookie binding
https://github.com/WICG/dbsc -
@Pathduck I assigned shortcut Ctrl+Shift+W to Exit.
Works fine. -
@Pathduck I have to manage three certificates on the same site, so if I have to change the certificate used, only logout and new login isn't enough, browser must be restarted.
Not a deal-breaker, but annoying if I have to change frequently. -
@Gif2D Perhaps a Chromium issue?
I can not test i have no client certificates at this time on my development PC to check.The problem is that the >Chromium cert manager does not know when to use a different cert.
I think having those on three hardware keys could change it, but need of 3 hadrwarekeys not very confortable.Can you check if the issue is on Chromium 126.0.6424.0 (unzip archive to a temp folder) too?
-
@Pathduck That's why I was intrigued too.
For the moment, I changed Vivaldi to have full rights to settings.dat file.
After that,C:\Program Files (x86)\
now contains a new folder: reports
I will try to find why Vivaldisettings.dat
landed intoC:\Program Files (x86)\
.LE: And this is after uninstalling and reinstalling without keeping profile, using only Vivaldi" sync.

BTW these aren't hardware certificates, just client certificates issued by the site and available to be downloaded from and used on the same site for yearly usage.

3 different usernames or 3 for different URLs? Can you tell more?
I can try to check tomorrow and create some test client certificates on my Apache web server, but need to know more on the certificates.
And do you have that on Windows 10 or 11? -
after this update I can’t add some mouse gestures

@Pathduck Funfact: userdefined Settings → keyboard Ctrl+W for Exit works.
I have Ctrl-Q to exit Vivaldi, and works. Not so fun fact is that you can't add back Alt-F4 as "it's reserved by the system"
Of course it's a bug that needs to be ironed ASAP. -
OK I'm already regretting having this snapshot update.
Not only the Alt-F4 annoyance, but now saving a file and all the extensions that download and save a file will force a "Please wait for Vivaldi to Close" popup prior to the save.
Luckily just pressing Esc with make the popup disappear and the save actually happens, but it's an indicator that something is going really bad.
Extensions like twitterMediaDownloader, PixivToolkit and Powerful Pixiv Downloader all now show this weird behaviour when the file is going to be saved.EDIT: Oh wait, it even happens when you try to add extensions from Chrome store. In the moment the extension is getting added the Popup appears and only after pressing ESC the extension is installed.
Anyway I wanted to test also "Media Harvest : twitter Media Downloader " extension and even that cause the same issue each time a file gets saved.It's an issue with saving a file in general.
(VB-106974) Saving cause "wait for Vivaldi to close" popup

@iAN-CooG

I see, it's bound to the alt-f4 not working in some way.
Closed Vivaldi, reopened, saved an image or url as htm, works with no popup.I can reproduce with these steps.
Set exit shortcut key to Ctrl-Q,
Set Show Close window confirmation and Show Exit confirmation both checked.
Press Ctrl-Q, when the confirmation shows press ESC to abort.
Now save an image or link.
Pop up to wait for vivaldi to close shows.Can you reproduce the error this way?
-
@iAN-CooG ^
Yes, I can reproduce it.
Can you report it to the tracker? I can confirm the report.
