Problems with web panels after the 6.6 update.
-
Hi friends!! After the last update, 6.6, the web side panels no longer work, they display the message "loading..." and nothing is displayed, I have already deactivated the panel and redone it and it temporarily solved it until I need to open it again then everything goes white and the message "loading..." does anyone else have this difficulty? Here's an image of my problem, in this example I'm using spotify.

@jorgefilho
Hi, there is another thread about: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/95535/vivaldi-improves-mail-search-and-translate-extends-web-panels-with-extension-support/66We try to fine out which page cause this, the developer could not reproduce this and me either.
I will ask the user to follow this thread, the stable publishing thread gets to fragmented.
We have: Outlook, Google Calendar, Todoist, Slack, Whatsapp, ChatGPT, Gmail, Keep, Google search, Spotify, ACC Build, and Notion.I use Keep, Slack and Google Translate without issues.
Cheers, mib

I have the same issue. Lots of web panels are forever stuck on the "Loading..." screen. It's driving me nuts, I'm getting tired of it. Restarting Vivaldi fixes it, but only temporarily. I'm on Windows 11.

@JeroenWillems yes, even in version 6.7 this problem still persists here.

@JeroenWillems @jorgefilho Which security tools do you use?
Does it work if you run without extensions?
Had your tried uninstall of Vivaldi without deletion of browser profile data, and reinstall with installer from vivaldi.com? -
@DoctorG I only use Windows Defender, and only the Dark Reader extension. I tried disabling it but had no luck. I haven't tried reinstalling the browser yet, as I'm using it at work, so it's a bit complicated to stop and do this. But I will try it and report back here.

Hi,
Try with this instead:https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/94705/guide-troubleshoot-disconnected
-
@Zalex108 I'll try, thanks.

Pretty sure this is caused by web panel being hibernated. There's already been several posts about this.
Could be caused by an extension that hibernates panels, or the "new" Memory Saver in Vivaldi.
Sites added to web panels need to be excepted from hibernation, either in the the extension causing it or in
chrome://settings/performance
-
@Pathduck I tried this, but unfortunately the issue is still there.
-
@JeroenWillems What exactly did you try?
Please answer:
- Do you have any extensions that hibernate tabs?
- Have you enabled the Memory Saver?
- Have you tried removing and adding the web panel again?
- What web panels does this happen on? Any specific web panel or all web panels?
-
- No
- I exempted all the sites that I use in my web panels
- Yes
- Any. All web panels work if I click on them soon after starting Vivaldi. But if I didn't click on all web panels early enough after starting Vivaldi (I have no idea what the trigger is), the ones I didn't click on early enough won't load anymore. So what usually happens is I open Vivaldi, I use (for example) my Google Calendar and Google Keep web panels successfully, after some time has passed I want to open my (for example) Gemini or calculator web panels, but they won't load. So it's solved by restarting Vivaldi and just going through and opening up all the web panels on time, but that's very tiring.

@JeroenWillems I have no idea then, sorry. It was just a theory. Keep guessing I guess?
