I fail to see the panel additions. I always had navigational buttons in web panels as far as i remember? Do i need to do something to use the extensions in the webpanels?

For now, you have two possibilities:

Uncheck “Force a dark theme on all websites”.
Or open the settings page (protip: enable opening settings in a tab instead of a new window) and select Light when you are on your site you want to keep in light mode.

There's a very fast flashbang when starting the browser with this version, noticable ofc when using a dark theme.

On 6.5, I had one sometimes, but not always. Not tested yet with 6.6.

@jon Thank you for the Dark Mode theme for all websites. This is a huge plus for me as I always prefer to have a dark background when reading webpages.

On YouTube.com when I click on a video, it loads in the same tab and strats playing the video, so far so good. But if I middle-click to load the video in a new tab, it loads the video in a new tab but does NOT start it playing as soon I click on the tab... before the latest update, it did play the video. Bug or Settings problem?

Happens to me too! And what is worse, it also pauses video playback after an ad. And if there are two ads in a row, it pauses the second ad too.

AFAIK, no. You only can kill their process in the Vivaldi Task manager (Shift-Esc, or search for it in the Quick Commands pop-up), but you’ll have to manually reload it afterwards.

The other solution is to quit and restart Vivaldi: if you set the lazy load of the panels on, they will be in hibernation when the browser is restarted.

After the update, you cannot mark the address in the address bar with the mouse, using ctrl+a and or part of it.

Please test this in a private window and/or the guest view, this except extensions and use the default settings.

Hi, I cant find a bug report for this issue but another user report Outlook OAuth does not work with enabled uBlock extension.
The user use a Office.com account.
Sounds a bit strange but Chrome extensions can cause really anything in Vivaldi.
A running Avast block adding any mail account on a friends PC, no error message, nothing.
Take me some time to find out.

Unfortunately, it doesn't even work in a private window.
When you click in the address bar, it is marked with a blue border and "text in it" cannot be selected.

Hm, the blue border is a new feature, it add the highlight color from your theme.

This is on Windows 11.

While extensions in side panels is an AMAZING improvement, it completely broke my panels (100% a huge bug). My web panels stops showing anything after a while and I have to restart Vivaldi every half an hour. Please please please get it fixed

Anyone having problems with installation/update of previous version? I can't seem to have my 6.5.3206.50 (Stable channel) (64-bit) updated to 6.6. Already ran the installation exe file several times. It installs/upgrades into another directory just fine. Just this c:\Vivaldi version does not seem to want to upgrade. DAFUQ?
(installation finishes, the browser runs automatically, no upgrade page, and 6.5 about page crashes here)
Could not upgrade from browser directly, it crashes when I click Help.

Hi, which panels do you use?
I cant reproduce this but another user report this here too.
One have to report issues to the bug tracker if he/she can reproduce this in a clean profile.
Post to the forum is not a bug report, it is to get feedback from other users if issues appear.

This is my first post on the forum.
I migrated to Vivaldi some time ago and am very satisfied.

I like the dark mode for web pages introduced in version 6.6, but I think it's just the same as what you could get before using "vivaldi:flags", except that now it's less configurable. But it's good that it's available simply in the settings. It just needs to be polished up a bit in future versions though....

Compared to version 6.5, I also noticed a regression - self-added thumbnails in speed dial (when displayed four in one) are displayed without anti-aliasing. It doesn't look very nice. If the thumbnails are displayed individually, everything is OK. You can see it in the attached image.

This has been reported as a bug:
