Will you be ours? – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3269.3
-
大神们,这种情况怎么弄了? -
On my first attempt, I got the message “Unable to extract archive.”
Installed OK on the second attempt.
-
@zdq1230 Perhaps your local Internet Service Provider blocks access to vivaldi.com or Great Firewall.
Have you tried a VPN? -
I'm only using the snapshot until the address bar fixes (autocompleting search suggestions) in 6.6 get merged to production.
(Or has that happened as part of 6.5?) -
@zdq1230
vivaldi.com 域名需要VPN访问。vivaldi.net不需要。
还有,在主板发帖还是请用英文吧......。不方便用英文的话,可以去 中文版块 发帖,虽然人气不旺,至少我会回复你。To access vivaldi.com requires VPN. Vivaldi.net is not.
Also, please use English when posting on the main board...If it is not convenient for you to use English, you can post in the Chinese section. Although it is not popular, at least I will reply to you. -
It's better that "foreign" users use the Translator, instead of the rest or dual posting those which understand the language.
The effort should be done by the Original Poster.

@Zalex108
Usually when I see those "illegal" posts, I check the poster's homepage. I found that most of them are newly registered users, and there are very few, or even only one or two, people posting. My strategy was to answer his questions first while politely informing him of the forum rules. If the rules are not followed, I will complain to the administrator.In fact, every time I post, I write it in my native language, then machine translate it, then translate the translation back to my native language for verification, revision, and then translation.

@ericjh: Thanks. that might perhaps help. (What makes a profile "dirty"? It's only Vivaldi messing around with it.)
But user profiles are there for a reason and I consider my Vivaldi profile valuable (and Vivaldi should, either! [I know, snapshots v stable] ;)) – not one to easily throw away. -
Okay.. So now I deleted "%localappdata%\User Data" and Vivaldi starts up again.
After synching the different profiles (losing Tampermonkey ond Stylus extension settings lest the synch!) and after shutting down Vivaldi for the first time, again it does not startup again (only keeps launcher and a gpu process running without showing a UI). Very disappointing.

I found out that my Veracrypt drive, on which I install the Snapshots, was getting full.
Clearing browsing data solved the problem.
There is now a more recent Snapshot, so this thread can be closed.
