@npro an improved version

@npro oh, i miss the graceful elegance of the fencing! parry, thrust, on guard!
-
-
@npro yeah, i know that one, & him. i have very mixed views about him.

@npro yeah, that one too.
wayland's been good for me now for a while, except i still miss:
- window shading / rollup
- app session restore
- browser PiP windowlets ignore my kwin window rules to stay on top & on all desktops
- [& now that today i rediscovered it] the missing font previews

Most (if not all) of these are considered non-showstoppers...
. Wayland is basically a failed project, 15 years in the works and still unfinished and problematic, and soon when it is going to be forced upon users lots of them will be crying and even more undiscovered problems will arise
As the article says, "at the time when the biggest enterprise Linux goes Wayland-only, that protocol will in the same general ballpark age-wise that X11 was when Kristian Hรธgsberg started work on its replacement. At that time, X11 had been around for 21 years" .
To sum up... "too little too late", maybe it's time for a completely new redesign.

yeah, methinks so too. i began work on it yesterday, & expect the project will be completed prolly by lunchtime monday.
prolly.
-
@ybjrepnfr Nice! I've completed it, but can't share it publicly due to the GPL... I hope everyone understands.
-
@npro oh yes, that's entirely reasonable! anyway, we all know that the world is a better place without any of that stupid "cooperation" rubbish, & where multiple identical projects can exist in glorious isolation & maximise the usage of resources, for minimal overall efficiency!

@ybjrepnfr Well said

i shouldn't imagine that a post like this would trigger any ugly flamewars or anything...

@ybjrepnfr
On the trolling level I give it a 7/10

The workspace is unstable and will soon have a new tab group feature that I am developing; starting with Floorp 11.7.0 we will have the ability to migrate to STG.

@npro fwiw, i also do not understand what the dev means here; what is STG?
however, them saying tab group might be interesting.
