@npro well, i mean, i have been kinda sorta writing, at least twice here iirc, that
sideberry
&floorp
is very buggy IF also using floorp's native workspaces. the combos that do work fine are:sideberry
+floorp
with NO workspaces [ie, use sidebery's multiple tabs panels instead]tst
+floorp
with floorp's native workspaces
-
@ybjrepnfr yes you wrote about it already (and I have also tested it), this was just the official stance on this matter.
-
Also...
Vote limit lifted?
:faints:
-
@npro yes, so it's good [albeit also sad] to get validation that i was not making it up. tis a pity though.
-
-
@ybjrepnfr just tested it, I think it always reset midnight in my case? ooooooh...
-
@npro well i guess you & i can test this theory right now, can't we? heehee.
or maybe not... i'm tired, & need sleep now. see you next time.
-
@ybjrepnfr I was thinking the same but then I thought we should not flood this thread
, I mean we have so many participants and (lurking) readers who would like to read some interesting Floorp stuff
/edit: gn8
-
@npro then... 6x9...
-
So back to some useless information, every once in a while I change system fonts, (because looking at the same all the time is boring right?)... this time I chose
Droid Sans
(though... gargle :/) globally andTerminus
for konsole/yakuake (and as a "Mono" font) heh... DS makes line spacing a bit bigger and I kinda like the change, but it made "Speed Dial 2 New tab"s nav bar fonts thinner (and smaller) I think. In contrast to that, Viv's (vertical ofc) tab bar looks like TST now
I also decided to remove some fonts... yakuake looks like this now
...
-
Furthermore, I installed
bottles
as well to see what the fuss it's all about... and... this is how proud & famous GNOME's and GTK'sCSD
bullcrap is made in reality...it's some totally artificial, transparent
P.S. Maybe I should write those in a rant blog or sthg...

@npro oh golly! i also occasionally change mine, but admittedly not terribly often. i seem to have drifted, over the years, from wider to narrower fonts. for several years i was in love with
lato
, then one day somehow my sensibility completely changed & abruptly they felt far too wide, or, if you like...bloat !
heehee, so i began using narrow or condensed families, & for another many years settled on
ubuntu condensed
[alternately despising myself, & laughing with myself at the irony]. then i changed toroboto condensed
[& have tried hard to ignore which horrible company makes them, ugh]. that last change was more or less forced when, 6 or 12 months ago, i discovered that u/c &libreoffice writer
were not playing nice together. frequently, but unpredictably, the two softwares would fight each other such that changing words from regular to italic or bold or underlined or strikethrough etc, or combinations, would be completely ignored... but as soon as via troubleshooting i changed fonts, all those formatting changes correctly appeared. silly!no offence, but somehow your
yakuake
mono font causes me severe psychological distress! haha.oh & i do congratulate you on finally solving the puzzle of how we can get
tst
into vivaldi -
@npro ugh! i cannot adequately tell you how much i dislike the whole aesthetic of
gtk
apps. they have so much excessive padding everywhere, so that every time their gui's are unnecessarily huge & imo wildly inefficient of desktop space. dunno, but they just really offend me.as for
Bottles lets you run Windows software on Linux
-
@ybjrepnfr Does it mean
Bottles
lets you run Windows on Linux? -
-
@hlehyaric ooh now look here you!
-
@hlehyaric i know, i know, the shame, the hypocrisy! i do keep looking, now & then, to find a nice narrow/condensed font whose aesthetic pleases me & whose company is not nasty, but so far i still haven't. all the "ethical" ones, are pretty horrible, so far.
pls, let us never speak of this deep shame ever again
-
-
you noticed the real window (as shown with Kwin) right? I haven't seen a more disgraceful window than this...
-
yeah "
" ... I need to take a look at this for a friend that has recently converted to Elementary... 'cause telling him about WINE environments would surely scare him off lol. At least some convert to Elementary already... not like some others....

@npro said in Arching Floorpians:

yeah, these kind of peeps are just so terrible, innit! thank goodness we have none of them hereabouts...

latothis. Historically I never liked the "round" fonts, for example what buntus are using...
Lato
is decent but it doesn't differentiate much from some of the other popular fonts, imoDroid
is a nice middleground, not too extremely condensed like Roboto (for some wierdos) but still definitely in that direction
