Still seeing html emails rendered as text for a specific sender. Renders fine on stable.

@Durtro said in Changes to Mail View Filters – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3096.3:

Still have html mail rendering problems for a specific sender that started a couple of builds ago. It makes those emails unusable.

Guess it would be related to one or both of these:
[Mail] Ignore whitespace-only subparts of multipart messages (VB-98336)
[Mail] Detect leading “<html” root signature in text/plain as text/html (VB-98336)

Worked fine before the update. Still renders fine in gmail directly but not in vivaldi

A small sample of what I see:

Still see this in the new snapshot:

Anyone seeing some html emails rendered as text? In my case and for one specific sender, all previously html rendered emails are now rendered as text. This is in a windows installation. Didn't check it yet on my linux installation.

              Why Open the Web?

Despite the connecting purpose of the Web, it is not entirely open to all of its users.
When used correctly, HTML documents can be displayed across platforms and devices.
However, many devices are excluded access to Web content.

Yes, i remeber those Ol' Days: teletype punching code by holes in paper stripes to load bootstrapper, feeding large card readers with punch cards with FORTRAN code.
The times got better with a CRT terminal and UNIX shells. 😉

Unfortunately still no address bar focus on CTR+T from youtube fullscreen video. Must be in full screen to not have focus on the new tab's address bar after pressing CTRL+T (new tab shortcut). When testing in Edge, the shortcut works fine from YT fullscreen so it must be some stup*d little bug.

Use case: sometimes I see/hear something in youtube video and would immediately like to create a new tab and write to its address bar. But it's impossible with just CTR+T shortcut currently when in full screen. Must exit full screen with ESC and only then the shortcut works properly.

(VB-86280) Ctrl+T in youtube fullscreen opens new tab but does not put caret/focus into address bar.

                            Slowly losing faith in Vivaldi

@doctorg: and later starting every new line of code in Fortran 77 by hitting spacebar 6 times and thinking nothing much about it.

Usually on Win11 running Vivaldi Snapshot builds. Opinionated about working efficiently with email. Folders are evil | Mail workflow: receive, read, reply, mark as read, done.

I can tell that my bugreport VB-99174:
"tab crashes on youtube in fullscreen when pressing WASD (spatial navigation) by error"
Can be closed, now doesn't crash anymore on both Youtube and Twitter, at least.
