constantly logging out of accounts problem
-
For some reason Vivaldi keeps logging me out of different accounts periodically once every week or so, and i have to log back in with my passwords and username or email like the user is deleted from memory of the browser (not the autofill chrome option which is at least at that is useful) so it gets very irritating, especially when there is a 2FA turned on like on Facebook where after signing in again i have to verify the sign in. (and btw the email is saying i signed in from a new device, while im using the same hardware and same browser, so it really is like the browser logs me out and forgets i was ever signed in!). Please Fix that asap

@Avi917 Getting logged out and receiving the “new device” warning happens when you lose the cookies for the page. This means some action deleted/removed them. Check your privacy settings.

check also your "security" extensions

Same for me. Vivaldi log out from Vivaldi.net blogging if I inactive for a while. I use 2FA with code, so it's annoying every time to write a code.
But I don't receiving emails about new device.
Twitter, for example, or YouTube never logging me out, but Vivaldi.net does.

@Kadae It’s the same thing, you somehow are losing the cookie for the session. Try it on a fresh profile where you set cookies to »accept all« in
vivaldi://settings/privacy
. If you still get logged out, there is a real problem, if not, it’s either your current settings, or a privacy related extension doing this. -
@luetage
Hi, I can reproduce this if I reboot from Windows to Linux I have to login to the forum and sometimes on my mail accounts.
This doesnt happen on other webpages or mail accounts.
Used or clean profile. -
Greetings!
I just tested this on a standalone install. Logging in to Vivaldi community with 2fa, closing Vivaldi and restarting device. After startup and starting up Vivaldi I’m still logged in. Are you setting the checkmark for »remember me on this device«?Salutations,

@luetage
Yes but I don´t use 2FA, btw I need to login to Jira every time , too.
Vivaldi web mail, Yahoo, Google work all fine, I use also several forum accounts.
If I update Vivaldi I have to login again on many pages but this is what you mention about cookies.
This seems to is connected with the time, if I restart Vivaldi it does not happen, after a hour or three it does. -
@mib2berlin Cannot reproduce. When I shutdown the computer and come back even several days later I’m still logged in. It’s not clear to me how Vivaldi is doing this. Cookies are stored in the profile and Vivaldi can’t touch it when it doesn’t run. Therefore either the system interferes, which I’d say is unlikely, or Vivaldi does this when starting up. Observe the cookie storage while starting up Vivaldi, you just might find out more about it.
