How to move some bookmarks (or bookmark folders) after sorting them alphabetically?
-
I have a large number of bookmarks that are organized in folders and subfolders.
I have activated "View > Show bookmarks bar" menu option, so I can easily access these bookmarks.
In order to find them quickly, I have sorted them alphabetically.
But there is a problem: Folders like "speed dial" go to the bottom of the list! I wanted this folder in the left-most position in the Bookmarks bar.
Likewise, I also want some other folders to be moved to other positions.
But Vivaldi does not allow this: Either all the bookmarks are in "auto-sort" mode, or they revert to the old non-sorted order.
I want to sort the bookmarks alphabetically only once. After that, I want to turn off auto-sorting, and drag some bookmarks/folders to new positions.
Is there any way to do this?

@Raindrops1 No. The bookmark manual sorting order remains unchanged until you drag and drop bookmarks in manually sorted mode.

I have only folders in my Bookmarks bar. All my bookmarks are inside these folders only. Probably this affects the sorting behavior.
To change the sorting, I right-click on an empty space in the Bookmarks bar (or the >> overflow icon at the far right), and select Sort > Alphabetically.
All folders and bookmarks get sorted alphabetically. So far, so good.
But if I select "Sort > Manually", Vivaldi moves all the folders to their previous order. The folders do not stay in their alphabetically sorted positions. This is a huge problem, because I want them to retain the alphabetic order, and then move a few special folders to special positions.
For example, I want to arrange the Speed dial folder, a TEMP folder and a Daily folder to far left of the bar. I want all the other folders to appear in alphabetical order.
BTW I am reporting for Windows 11 Home.
