Improve automatic choice of translation language

99% of the time, I need to translate Dutch to English, but very often "server could not determine language" and I have to manually select. (I'm mainly using the sidebar translator which is otherwise super awesome!)

It would be great if:

when "server could not determine language", it tries with a specified default
when the server has previously recognized the language on a page, but on another translation request, it cannot determine the language, it should guess that it's the same language as the last translation.

Agreed. It would be good if it could spot if certain characters which only appear in certain languages and use that as a hint.

@barbudo2005 Thanks! That is better at guessing, but lacks the "automatically translate highlighted text" feature.

Using for Japanese, most of the time it can't determine the language what forces me to keep it with Japanese selected, what throws away the convenience of it
