@DoctorG probably the main RC already had few birthdays too - which is the reason I bear few glitches 🍰

        Hi here
I am using two profiles (one for my personal stuff, one for work) and I get this issue on one of them, while the other one seems to work as expected.

It also happens to me, but not only after a reboot. Just closing Vivaldi sometines moves all tabs and tab groups back to default.

I already moved my 48 open tabs 10x, but just got them back to the default workspace after closing and reopening the browser 😧

I do work with private windows from time to time for website testing purposes (where I don't use the workspaces off course). It seems to be related to that maybe (or due to syncing??).

Anyone an idea, because although I do like the Workspaces a lot, current behaviour is pretty annoying...

            In meantime some background information:
The issue was reported to Vivaldi Bug Tracker and developers investigate a fix.

Issue: Using the workspace tabs moving from their allocated workspaces to the main (default) workspace folder - Windows PC version.

Hello Vivaldizens and recovering victims of other browser experiences.

I have had the same thing happen to this poster as follows:

Issue - Workspaces tabs not restored to workspace folders but main workspace folder after computer shutdown and restart.

I have been using the workspace tabs successfully and have usually put my computer to sleep without any issue. However, today, when I turned off my computer and powered it back on, I noticed that all the previously open tabs in their respective workspaces had moved to the main workspace.

I do have the system setup that open the browser, last tabs, thats where i left the session prior to close.

As a result, I was left with a list of workspaces that were devoid of any tabs. This is unexpected behavior as the tabs are supposed to be restored when the computer is turned back on.

I also have the same issue.
I have > 1000 tabs usually and organizing them into Workspaces is a lifesaver for me. This is a feature I have been waiting for for years (since Firefox Tab Groups got killed).

However, unfortunately, it is really unusable currently since every time I shutdown Vivaldi (either by shutting down the application or rebooting my computer) most if not all tabs go back into the main workspace and my tabs are no longer organized.

This has been happening since I first started trying Workspaces with the first version of Vivaldi 6.0
I have been checking every time there is a Vivaldi update and so far it hasn't been fixed.

Prior to restarting Vivaldi, these workspaces each had several tabs in them. (I don't know how many).

                    Here is my version info:
                    Vivaldi 6.0.2979.18 (Stable channel) (arm64)

I don't have any experimental things turned on.

I previously had 2 Profiles in Vivaldi.
I reduced it to 1 Profile (deleted my other profile) to see if that would help.
So far, it seems like my tabs are being restored to the correct Workspace.

I also did turn on the Experimental flag: eb5130fb-1014-4fa3-827b-3bb27bbdaaf7-image.png
I'm not sure which thing may have fixed it.
I will continue to do more experimenting.

I'm going to disable the "Enable Session Panel" and see if things are still getting restored to the appropriate workspace after restarting vivaldi.

Same problem here, too bad because this feature is dope (and with Arc around they better fix it soon)

I've pretty much given up with Workspaces. It's so unpredictable as to how it's going to start up that arranging them is just a waste of time. We just had a power cut and all tabs have reset again. And when my work machine restarted to install updates, my Workspaces came up looking like the complete mess in the screenshot below.

I have the Session panel on, with AutoSave Sessions on - I really don't get what else I'm supposed to do to get Workspaces working in a stable and predictable manner. They're a great idea, but how they operate is impenetrable.

@DoctorG It looks a lot better now, @DoctorG yes. I End Processed Vivaldi after setting up workspaces and they seem to have retstored correctly. 👍
