Tabs go to default Workspace after reboot
-
@petervs Yes, have made comment in this thread - same thing ditto
-
I also have the same issue.
I have > 1000 tabs usually and organizing them into Workspaces is a lifesaver for me. This is a feature I have been waiting for for years (since Firefox Tab Groups got killed). However, unfortunately, it is really unusable currently since every time I shutdown Vivaldi (either by shutting down the application or rebooting my computer) most if not all tabs go back into the main workspace and my tabs are no longer organized.
This has been happening since I first started trying Workspaces with the first version of Vivaldi 6.0
I have been checking every time there is a Vivaldi update and so far it hasn't been fixed.
Prior to restarting Vivaldi, these workspaces each had several tabs in them. (I don't know how many).
Here is my version info:
Vivaldi 6.0.2979.18 (Stable channel) (arm64)
Revision 5243808775824766c6c87db6f696da024ebdc6eb
OS macOS Version 13.3.1 (Build 22E261)
JavaScript V8 11.2.214.19
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/112.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Command Line /Applications/Vivaldi.app/Contents/MacOS/Vivaldi --flag-switches-begin --flag-switches-end --disable-smooth-scrolling --save-page-as-mhtmlHere is my Session State configuration:
I don't have any experimental things turned on.
-
I previously had 2 Profiles in Vivaldi.
I reduced it to 1 Profile (deleted my other profile) to see if that would help.
So far, it seems like my tabs are being restored to the correct Workspace.I also did turn on the Experimental flag:
I'm not sure which thing may have fixed it.
I will continue to do more experimenting.I'm going to disable the "Enable Session Panel" and see if things are still getting restored to the appropriate workspace after restarting vivaldi.

Same problem here, too bad because this feature is dope (and with Arc around they better fix it soon)
-
I've pretty much given up with Workspaces. It's so unpredictable as to how it's going to start up that arranging them is just a waste of time. We just had a power cut and all tabs have reset again. And when my work machine restarted to install updates, my Workspaces came up looking like the complete mess in the screenshot below.
I have the Session panel on, with AutoSave Sessions on - I really don't get what else I'm supposed to do to get Workspaces working in a stable and predictable manner. They're a great idea, but how they operate is impenetrable.
-
It works fine for me since the last update

@Resh Congrats
