Test IMAP server with test mails available?
-
is there any "fake imap server" with a whole lot of emails which can send & receive mails to/from a super limited amount of addresses that resets itself every 24h just to allow testing email programs (Not just vivaldi), make it easier to reproduce bugs because the same mail data can be used for everyone (see for example all threads about "filters/search doesn't work), check bugfixes etc. in a controlled stable environment? Ideally open?

@WildEnte For such cases i use Linux in a VirtualBox VM and had setup a local IMAP
Dovecot server. -
@DoctorG I have no problem using my own emails for my testing things out. The point here is to allow working together on the same mail database - I am not willing to open all my private mail to someone else to reproduce an issue.
So I'm looking for a rather large open IMAP server where we can find a way to reproduce bugs we see in our own mails there, which makes it much easier to provide clear instructions to reproduce them on the same data set. I imagine this would help the mail team to quickly narrow down and eliminate issues related to filtering or searching and the like.
I figured such configuration might exist somewhere. If it doesn't, I guess it wouldn't be worth the effort to set it up at this stage of the development anymore.

Would the benefits of such a service justify its running costs; likely they would not.
Are there specific issues with filters / searches that you are observe are difficult to reproduce?

Agreed (last paragraph in my previous post)

I have filed many bug reports about such issues as have others, many have been resolved. I have linked to two threads where people report problems, I can't say whether or not they are hard to reproduce because just because I don't have access to their email
