Solved Sync Workspaces
-
I just recently started using Workspaces and was surprised to find that they don't sync between devices. Here's to hoping that this is added as an option soon!
-
I am amazed this is not in there. As lots of other people have said, it is a much needed feature. Would be much appreciated.

@Liveo13 I just want to add my few comments.
I find Workspaces really useful. It allows me to organize my work, and different projects in a good and meaning full manor. The lack of sync functionality for Workspaces is a pain. It would be a timesaver if both the name and the content of the workspace were synched. In my dream world, I would like to see a Sync setting on each individual workspace. Sync Yes/No. That would allow me to sync some of them. Just a suggestion.

I want to chime in and say that Workspace sync is an absolute MUST to make this a feature that is professionally usable. I am shocked that this was implemented from the start. I just discovered that I will need to migrate workspaces over to a new computer by manually copying tabs via booksmarks or using a session manager addon or something like that.
-
I'll add yet another voice to those asking for syncable Workspaces. I've been using Workspaces extensively to manage my day-to-day work since they were introduced, but the inability to sync them to my laptop and home computer has become really frustrating. It's a shame, as it is a feature that is on the cusp of being indespensible.
-
.02 I need it also. I've been building out my workspaces on my main machine and it's fantastic, especially with stacked tabs, the structure and presence of select URLs is actually the best way I have of tracking where I am in a project.

please make this happen it will be a game changer
-
Just wanna chime in with my thumbs up for syncing workspaces

@herrkjeldsen Vote for the first post if you haven't already done so. (Voting again will remove your vote).

@elitenet Please make a new topic in Mobile Feature Requests.

It is ridiculous that workspaces and web panels are not synced. Please add the support!

@jane-n what sense to do smth, and do in only on a half, vivaldi devs???

As I tried Vivaldi 3 years ago, it was raw and not ready to use browser, as now. Nothing has changes, unfortunately.
I really like the idea, and community, but... again came back to Firefox and Opera -
The reality is, new browsers such as Arc and Sigma do sync workspaces. So that you have this continuous browser experience no matter what device you use. This simple yet powerful implementation is one of the main reasons people are talking about and switching to these browsers.
I tried them and like a lot, but I came back to vivaldi because I can't get use to vertical tab management.
For now, Workona is the workaround, but would be nice if there was native syncing of workspaces.

I'm very new to Vivaldi, recently coming from Safari and Chrome environment. I'm in a steep Vivaldi learning curve right now. I've got a few questions for anyone out there who would be kind enough to direct me to answers for these... 1) This may be a bit naive of me but, does one have to go through the syncing process every time you switch between machines? That seems inconvenient and time consuming. I'd be glad to post this next question to a more appropriate thread...2) I've been experiencing issues with auto-fill for online forms (not passwords) ie: amazon, or any pages which require one to fill in your stored name, address, phone, etc. This function is not working at all. I hit "fill in", but the field remains blank. Thanks.

Firefox's Tab Containers take Workspaces one step further. Or maybe better said, Firefox's Containers combine the ideas of Vivaldi's Workspaces and separate logins. The UI for Firefox's approach isn't as elegant, but the functionality is superior. Well, it's superior depending on how you look at it. Each Firefox Container is truly a container ... think of it as an entirely different browser. Or a different Vivaldi login. Log into google in one Firefox Container and the other containers know nothing about it.
The biggest issue with Firefox Containers is that the UI is just not great at the top level. But it's handy to right click on a link and say, "open this in a different container" or even a tab ... right click on a tab and "reopen in some other container".
Anyway. There're things I like about both approaches (Vivaldi's and Firefox's).
ALSO! Firefox containers don't sync. So frustrating. :

You have created a feature I have come to love and rely on, I however I think its a major oversight not to build in sync, it appears half based. If I move I have to spend ages recreating all my workspaces, which is annoying especially if I have spent time adding my own icons. I even have my workspaces correspond and sit on virtual desktops, so all I have to do is change workspace and it goes to that virtual desktop, thus allowing me to focus on the job at hand.
Please add sync and if you could more closely link it to virtual desktops that would be awesome. -
I restarted using Vivaldi today for stock trading course as it nicely allows groupings of 4 charts per screen with workspaces. It would be wonderful if these workspaces can be synched between (for me) Windows PCs. Thanks .. enjoying the browser and its capabilities!

If you are building a browser, then Workspace and open/sleeping tabs syncing across Vivaldi implementations can be an after thought.
If you are building a better user experience, than Workspace and open/sleeping tabs syncing across Vivaldi implementations is essential, IMHO!
Please tell us, you see the light. And ty for a pretty good UX so far!
