Simple button for Reader View
-
i agree Read View option doesnt work even u enable it from setting:
from:
https://help.vivaldi.com/android/android-tools/android-reader-view/Enabling Reader View
To enable Reader View on Vivaldi Mobile, open the Vivaldi menu > Settings > Web Pages > Accessibility and tick the box for Simplified view for web pages.
Once enabled, you’ll see a prompt (Show simplified view) on top of the screen whenever Reader View is available for a web page.
Still doesnt show option for Reader View...
why.just cant make simply button appers when u browse site that can preview in Reader View like all other normal browsers?"you’ll see a prompt (Show simplified view)"
never showing... this is how i can tell...
left img is chonicums vivaldi in desktop view ,
and right img is mozzila based...supporing this, vote up:

Workaround until Vivaldi has mercy on us ☛ https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/747816

@luetage My workaround was to switch to Opera as default on Android! In the meantime I'll just wait for Vivaldi to do a proper Reader View.
-
@luetage The lack of a button is also an issue as if you miss the popup you need to reload the page.
I'd rather a simple button rather than a popup for those pages that allow simplified view.
-
@wintercoast which some of us can't do as Opera doesn't support bitwarden on Android.

@disu1950 THIS!
Psst, lovely Vivaldi devs, The thread was started in January 2023. Any updates?
People use it. I do, more often than ever before due to the growing obnoxiousness of some websites.
Logically, you just need to
assign the code you already have to a button.
Something like what @disu1950 showed in his post above.
Alternatively, but not as intuitive, maybe you could add the missing things in the
Page Action
menu, which is pretty awesome in and off itself, but lacks the one thing that "cleans" the page, if you see what I mean. You can almost replicate it, but not quite. One major issue is that if you miss the pop-up somehow, it ain't coming back, even after refreshes. If you could fix THAT, then it'd work. Not as elegant as a button, but a quick fix.

Is it available for iOS? I can’t see Web pages option.
-
We've added a Reader View toggle to the main menu in Vivaldi on Android. You can test it out in the latest Snapshot.

@jamesthebud yes a reader button in address bar is far better.
