Messages Not Displaying

I am having a couple of problems getting started.
. IMAP connection error - socket timed out message keeps appearing.
. I can click on and read some older messages but others just display the senders name and recipients name but no text or body of the message. -
@IndyDax Welcome to this forum!
The message means that the internet connection to the email server has not been established. This may be due to the server, or your connection, which you can check. -
@Dancer18 Thanks for the info I will check this out.
Just to clarify a couple of points when I installed the program it has downloaded all my emails but some I can view the full proper email but quite a few others I can only get the header with the subject heading and FROM and TO.
I also believe my email account is POP3

Maybe it's all HTML? ....in which case, grant Vivaldi permission to access "External" materials
