How to delete multiple emails without opening them first?

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to choose multiple emails and delete them without opening them first. I can do it in my Gmail but not Vivaldi mail.

In Vivaldi webmail:
- select the folder
- if checkbox to select individual messages is not shown select Select and then Selection from pop-up menu as shown below:
- use checkboxes to select messages for deletion
- select Delete to delete selected messages
In Vivaldi Mail it seems it is not possible to select messages without them being shown

@athoneycomb Why is this a problem? Is it a privacy issue?
There are only two panels, the list panel and the message panel. Something has to be shown in the message panel, which is always the selected message.
There is a feature request for List View Only. Would that solve your issue?
