Different color for Note background in dark mode
-
So I like to use Dark mode, however my eyesight isn't very good, so I was wondering if there was a way to specify a lighter background color for notes, rather than the default dark bg color? I don't do theming, but if this requires me writing my own that may be what I'd have to do.

@Ectropian What means dark mode and what notes view do you want to change? There are notes in the panel and a dedicated internal notes page.
-
@Ectropian Try the Blueprint theme instead of the Dark theme.
Since it is easy to edit any theme, or create your own, I don't see any chance of this request being implemented.
-
@luetage dark mode, as in themes with dark backgrounds. I was wondering if you can change the notes (dedicated sidebar app) to a lighter color than the default dark background in themes.
-
@Pesala I agree with editing the theme if that’s possible to change the notes bg was my original thought.

While I doubt this will happen any time soon, I do think allowing the user to change the Notes editor background to something with better contrast, instead of letting it depend on theme, would be a good idea. I like dark themes, but the reality is that light gray text on a dark gray background is not actually that good in terms of contrast.
I actually tried some custom CSS to change the it to black on white, but was only able to change the background.

It can sort of be done with filters for the notes manager. It makes the text a bit ugly, but maybe there is a better filter combination for inverting the text color. And the notes panel is an easy change.
/* Make Notes Manager editor have black text on white background */ .theme-dark .NotesManager-Editor, .theme-dark .NotesManager-RenderedContent { background-color: white; } .theme-dark .NotesManager webview.editor-webview { filter: brightness(0) !important; } /* Make Notes Panel editor have black text on white background */ .theme-dark .cardview.cardview .NotesEditor-Editor { background-color: white; color: black; }
There is also the folder
Vivaldi\Application\\[VERSION_NUMBER]\resources\vivaldi\components\notes\richtexteditor
which could probably be edited to get the correct colors. -

@nomadic Wonderful, clever hack!
