Solved Facebook feed reloading rapidly

@iwaldner Just turn off the add blocker using the shield in Vivaldi - end of problem.
-
@RichardHC
Cool.
Can you may check the setting I posted @iwaldner ?
If this work you can enable the add blocker on Facebook and it is not the reason of the problem.Cheers, mib

Thanks. Disabling the add blocker for the FB site seems to do the trick. ( blocking tracking can be left on). Not sure @mib2berlin what else you suggested to try in that chrome link.. I would certainly prefer to keep blocking adds on FB...

@iwaldner
I read the page from your link and they suggest to disable "Redirect" in the Opera browser. You can reach this setting in Vivaldi with the chrome://
link. I cant test this myself, I don´t use Facebook.
Copy and paste the link into the Vivaldi address bar.Cheers, mib

@darkwolf
Thank you! That fixed it for me! -
I don't see anything called "tracker managers - none". I just see 3 choices, no blocking, block trackers, and block trackers and ads (default). Do u mean click on "no blocking"?
-
Thank u, Mib. I posted on that forum.

@lanternland
Morning, you can choose "No Blocking" or "Block Trackers" both seams
to work.Cheers, mib

I reactivated the 'Trace' app and found that it does not work on Facebook, probably for this very reason.
-
I clicked on No Blocking and so far Facebook seems OK...but last night some other websites and alternate browsers were doing the reloading/jumping around thing too, so i was thinking maybe it's my new router. But at least for now everything looks OK.
-
@JohnTheBass Sorry for that. The URL has changed for some reason I don’t know. The Link

Confirmed on my end as well. The problem is with the content blocker. Set it to none or block trackers and FB works fine. As soon as I add the ad blocking it starts skipping.
-
@darkwolf Yup, worked for me.
-
I am pretty much sure it is happening around the 'suggested for you' posts.

Lately it has become frustrating to use FB in Vivaldi. The FB feed keeps jumping around wildly when I scroll down, and if I try commenting on a post the feed jumps to another post in the feed. Have tried every fix found on the net to no avail. What is wrong? I now use Edge for FB and there is no such problem. The problem is the same on all my 3 PCs. Seems this problem came up with the latest Vivaldi update.

@petterviv Try to deactivate your adblocker extension or Vivaldi Blocker and reload.

Hi!
I have the same problem with Facebook and Vivaldi. Have to use an another browser. Deactivating the adblocker does not help.So, what is the problem with Vivaldi?
-
Yes! I have the same problem. It's only for the past 3 days or so. It works perfectly fine in Chrome.
-
If this issue is indeed caused by adblocker-lists as several users have discovered, then I doubt this is specific to Vivaldi, but rather to what block-lists are enabled. It might work in other browsers simply because these don't use adblocking or simply use different/updated lists.
For the Vivaldi adblocker, it's important to understand that these are publicly available lists, from several sources and managed by volunteers. Apart from possibly the DDG tracker list. Sometimes badly tested and too aggressive blocking rules make it into these lists. Usually they are reported to the list managers and fixed within a couple of days. There's very little Vivaldi can do about this.
Vivaldi refreshes these lists once a day or so, and sometimes it's enough to just force a reload of the lists by deselecting and selecting them again.
If someone who understands how blocklists work and with an FB account could investigate, they could probably figure out what specific rule is causing this issue. Probably best to recreate the issue using uBlock Origin, since the logger helps a lot figuring out what goes on.
