      I'm a new user, was using Maxthon and then switched to 360Chrome over the last 25 years because they had the modern browser features I liked. 360Chrome is basically dying on me, so I was looking to use Maxthon again since they've finally switched over to Chromium, however sadly they've lost so many users, and thus a smaller dev team, that their development is FAR behind.

      Anyway, I'm wanting to switch over the Vivaldi since this seems the best browser now as to features after checking all the other major browsers, having most of what I liked with Maxthon and 360Chrome traditionally and more, however, one BIG issue I'm having is you've made the UI "smaller" than other browsers have. I'm speaking about the Top Bar sections, Buttons, Text, the Bottom Bar, also Notes, and likely other sections which I haven't fully explored yet. They all have a "smaller" UI that's not comfortable to see and use.

      I'm on a 27 Inch screen, and this just makes everything harder to CLICK, SEE, etc.
      It's really so uncomfortable I don't know that I want to even use the browser even though it's better than Maxthon in most ways. See Maxthon for an example of their sections, which are comfortable to read and use as to SIZE.

      I really need this fixed... Sure, it would be great for those on smaller screens, but not "most" of us, especially if we don't have 100% perfect eyesite, but it's also clicking things that just makes if "uncomfortable" to do, the extra "effort".

      HELP.... Thanks.

      p.s. I would recommend that the DEFAULT be the normal sizing browsers use for these UI elements, and then have a "Setting" or something for those who want this "mini" UI. You've likely driving people away due to this UI irritation.

        @leeuniverse Maybe increasing the UI zoom will help you.

        Go to vivaldi://settings/appearance/ and increase the option User Interface Zoom.

        In regard to Vivaldi's default sizing compared to other browsers, I haven't noticed any significant difference.

          @nomadic Nor I. Seems essentially the same to me - but then, I rarely look at any other browsers for the last 7 years...

            vivaldi://settings/appearance/

            THANK goodness they thought of this issue... Thank you for that.
            I increased it by 5% and that's more comfortable. Though, I do wish they had a "manual" setting box, cause I might want something between the 5% intervals they allow.

            If you compare Vivaldi with Maxthon for example, there is a fair amount of a difference.
            (click image to go see "big" version to better compare)

            Also, do you know how we can increase the "Tab Width"...?
            Other browsers tend to have these as "wider" also which I like better.

            Thanks much! 🙂

              @leeuniverse There is a setting under Tabs, where you can increase the minimum width.

                Thanks, just found it when you posted...
                Seems like it's the "Active" Tab only, but that might be better than nothing.

                  @ayespy Weird... The size of the Tab won't change for me? Tried restarting too.

                  I think I've found a bug?

                    @leeuniverse It may be that the "Normal" size is already 180 px. Lemme see...

                    I agree. It appears it's not working. That's new. If you will file a bug report, and let me know what number they assign it, I can go into the bug tracker and confirm it.

                      You can try to manually edit the common.css file and add a piece of code at the end:

                      * {
                      font-family: "FZKaiTi" ! important;
                      font-size:16px;
                      }

                      The principle is to increase the font size to stretch the interface elements. In the above example
                      font-size:16px;
                      This line is to set the font size to 16 pixels. You can adjust the number 16 repeatedly until...

                      The location of the common.css file (for Windows):
                      If installed as a standalone version, it is located in <your installation directory>\Application<version number>\resources\vivaldi\style\ . Other ways to install are similar.

                            @leeuniverse Oops! My bad! I re-tested this, and it actually works! Thing is, 180 px, which is the highest setting you can use, isn't as wide as one might think.

                              LOL... Well, one could say it's STILL a Bug because they have a Setting which doesn't actually "change" anything.

                              It doesn't make the tab "smaller" either. For example, the setting by default was set at 30 Pixels before I touched it.
                              So, either way I would say it's still a bug?

                                @leeuniverse Not really. The intent of the setting is to keep the active tab from shrinking on the bar after you've added too many tabs for the bar to accommodate. Right now, the minimum size is like 10px or something, or less than 1/8 inch. The "regular" size is 180px, or around 2 inches. If you set it to 180Px and than add a mess of tabs to the bar, your active tab won't shrink to 1/8 inch, but will stay at about 2 inches. That's the intended design, and that's what it does. What you are looking for is to be able to set a minimum size for all tabs, and that's a feature request, rather than a bug.

                                  @ayespy Ah... So that's for "multiple tabs", it's not for actually increasing the size of the Active Tab, just for only KEEPING the size of the active tab when the others shrink.

                                  So, you would be right... Well, that wasn't clear lol.
                                  Don't know if can cancel that bug report.

                                  Thanks for helping figure it out.

                                  Anyone know if there's a CSS setting to increase the Tab Size? I'm guessing there is and that's what I would need since there's no setting per-se, unless there are some flags?
