@chas4: The picture from the blog is this one cropped and rotated

Oh ho, a new experiment?

no [chromium] entry, does that mean hoping for dd4c3ddadbb9869f59cee201a38e9ca3b9154f4d is still hopeless*?
[Themes] Sort themes in schedule drop-down (VB-52539)
alphabetically (coz i can’t check this, due to the above)? if yes, how is one supposed to pick their theme based on the position in the list? if my list is** morn, noon, arvo, eve, night, does it make sense to see arvo, eve, morn, night, noon?
* if hopeless hoping weren’t a nonsense, of course
** in fact, it isn’t -
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Nice find!
I wonder if there's any way to test it? Like a video site where the default doesn't work but the Chromium demuxer works? Maybe it fixes issues with Amazon Prime in HD?
-
@pathduck I don't get the new description
-
I cannot translate words with less than five characters in the side panel.
Words like "dog", "door" or "red" can't be translated.Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone.

@ian-coog Standalone install?
-
my tab trashbin is more or less empty (before update there were 60+ tabs), it contains only 5 entries. but a window, which I could re-open, had only 2 instead of 3 tabs
it's a strange world, we live in -
Unfortunately still crashing here, back to the last stable snapshot. Win 10 x64
-
@pathduck Yes, so the message is only changed depending on the installation type? I wonder why, isn't a standalone install treated the same way for the updater?
-
I don't know what I've done, but after "some time" I can't delete or mark as read entries within rss feeds, the buttons are grayed out. restart from vivaldi helps.
perhaps it has something to do with clicking a link from the feed? -
@altcode Ha, Vivaldi Pockets another new function...

In this [or maybe the previous] Snappie, this bug seems to have been quietly fixed:
Summary: The last parent tab fails to auto-stack its children.
Key: VB-84508...albeit now for Accordion option, the active stack no longer auto opens as it is being created [by adding the first child tab via clicking a link in the parent tab]. Otoh, when closing a single tab below [i use vertical tabs] the last stack, if that Accordion was collapsed, it then annoyingly opens by gaining focus [V needs an option to skip user-collapsed stacks from doing that (like in FF's TST & Sidebery AOs )]. For now i've reverted to Two-Level mode, to avoid these shenanigans.
Very sadly this recurring bug still isn't gone ... iirc this might be now the longest run of Snappies it has survived since last being squashed:Summary: POST-searches broke again, unless once more i DEselect
Always search in new tab
.
Key: VB-84084 -
I'm seeing an issue with dragging tabs. If I drag a tab to a new position, the window will become unusable. I just get the grey screen with the Vivaldi logo.
It does not crash the browser. It only affects the window that I re-arranged the tabs in. The window appears to be unresponsive (mouse gestures and shortcuts do not seem to work).
I'm on Linux Mint 20.2.

@ugly Not here. Having read your post i immediately tried rearranging some Pinned Tabs [all still ok], then some stacked tabs [all still ok], then some individual ordinary tabs [all still ok].
Ofc you've already retested in a clean profile?
Oh, in case it's relevant, i use vertical tabs on LHS, & Two-Tier tabstack mode.

It might be relevant. I use accordian style tab stacks.
I tried accordion tab stacks with vertical on LHS and it still happened.
But changing it to two-tier with tabs on the top did not have the issue. Compact style tab stacks also seemed to work.
So maybe it is an issue with the accordian style tab stacks.

Aha! Interesting, given i already posted about Accordions being a bit weird in this Snappie [until this morn's update, i had been using Accordion, & only changed due to this aforesaid weirdness].

@ugly: I have the same happen to me. Whenever I drag a tab in the tab bar (for rearranging the order), the window becomes blank (with the vivaldi log watermark in the middle) and I can't use the window anymore.
Edit : as @ugly and @guigirl point, it happens with accordion tabs, when I change to compact it works as intended and the window doesn't become blank.
