(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests

- Ability to choose independent folders and bookmarks to show on the bookmarks bar.
I like to keep my bookmarks in logical folders, not all of which I want on my bookmarks bar– which I use for quick access to favourite sites.
-import search engines from Opera 12
It seems odd that there is an option for Firefox and IE, but not for Opera.-close button for the Edit Bookmark panel
Reselecting 'Edit' isn't an obvious way to close the view, which I only tried out of desperationAlso, sooo glad for a proper bookmarks panel.

Unlike most browsers, Vivaldi doesn't have a loading icon on tabs (yet?)
Most just replace the favicon.png with a loading circle .gif
However, I think something similar to Vivaldi's loading bar could be implemented
Maybe a bar behind the text, or color the text black instead of white (which wouldn't work on many sites)
Or possibly have two thin bars, one above and one below the text, white filling in over a lightened variant of the main color
Anything is better than no indicator -
It would be really nice if when you opening links with right click "open in the new tab" the browser wouldn't move you to those links instantly, so I would be able to have some links opened before actually moving to their tabs.
-
This is another post about loading bars on tabs
Possibly only on background, but I mocked it up for both
Maybe instead move the text up (or down) and put the bar below (or above) it

Regarding bookmarks, could you add and option to just show icons without text in the bookmarks bar?

features for bookmarks:
make them sortable (alphabetically, date added, … custom logic)
make selection, copying, moving, deleting of multiple bookmarks possible (when importing and managing, one by one approach is inefficient ) -

Indeed. At least the options O12 had plus any new ideas people can come up with to turn bookmark management into the most efficient system possible.
make selection, copying, moving, deleting of multiple bookmarks possible (when importing and managing, one by one approach is inefficient )
Good idea. +1

Looks like we will get that in the context menu. In the meantime, middle-click on link will open it in background tab.

I'm sure this is coming, but +1 anyway.

If there is an option to show only bookmark icons, how about this as a sub-option: show the icons side-by-side rather than one-on-top-of-the-other. Listing them vertically means there will be a LOT of unused white space. Placing them side-by-side would allow for a very large number of icons in a very condensed space.
However, there is a problem with showing only icons. If you bookmark 10 YouTube pages how do you differentiate them? The same icons is used for all. So, it would be necessary to be able to set this on a per folder basis.
I'd like to see this.

sessions:
Instead bookmarking all open pages it would be more useful to save opened tabs as session, also session manager would be nice to be able to customize order of tabs or add/remove some of them (imagine that you are working on some more complicated web project and every day you need to reopen and relog on multiple pages)privacy/data handling:
Option to drop all delta data between opening vivaldi and closing it. So all searches, cookies, all client side storage and such that were obtained form time application is opened are deleted. This would also be useful for "public browsing" (public machine or such).
Building on that idea one could see that "delta data" manager would be also useful, and potentially "delta data chain" could be made so that one can manage which data sessions to delete/keep -
Hey Vivaldi Team,
Awesome work—loving the browser so far. Here's what I have for you:
Double-clicking a bookmark folder opens all the bookmarks as tabs. It would be great to have the browser give a confirmation dialog if you're about to open 10 or more tabs.
This morning, I imported all of my bookmarks, and accidentally double-clicked the folder. Browser instantly locked up, and force quitting was no help because it tried to open them all again on startup…
Thanks for all your efforts—looking forward to Vivaldi going GA!

It does? I can't make it do that!

The ability to add icons to the panel.
The ability to move the panel to the top or bottom.
Sliders to change the degree of effect on the page actions: intensify, obscure, skewed images, and transform 3d.
Ability to drag window if grabbing within the tab area if empty (assuming tabs are on top).

Thanks. I did miss it.

I suspect the OP is using atypical settings for the assignment of mouse-button functions.

Two things:
1. Make tabs reach the top of the screen because it just makes it hard when you're used to getting your cursor all the way to the top then you have to move it a little bit down just to get to the tab itself.
2. Modify the Vivaldi logo so it isn't in an ugly square.
And mayyyyyybe, make the option of the tab bar being on the sides only be small instead of having it clog up the screen? Because I like having the various colors of websites be on the whole bar at the top.
