(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests

sessions:
Instead bookmarking all open pages it would be more useful to save opened tabs as session, also session manager would be nice to be able to customize order of tabs or add/remove some of them (imagine that you are working on some more complicated web project and every day you need to reopen and relog on multiple pages)privacy/data handling:
Option to drop all delta data between opening vivaldi and closing it. So all searches, cookies, all client side storage and such that were obtained form time application is opened are deleted. This would also be useful for "public browsing" (public machine or such).
Building on that idea one could see that "delta data" manager would be also useful, and potentially "delta data chain" could be made so that one can manage which data sessions to delete/keep -
Hey Vivaldi Team,
Awesome work—loving the browser so far. Here's what I have for you:
Double-clicking a bookmark folder opens all the bookmarks as tabs. It would be great to have the browser give a confirmation dialog if you're about to open 10 or more tabs.
This morning, I imported all of my bookmarks, and accidentally double-clicked the folder. Browser instantly locked up, and force quitting was no help because it tried to open them all again on startup…
Thanks for all your efforts—looking forward to Vivaldi going GA!

It does? I can't make it do that!

The ability to add icons to the panel.
The ability to move the panel to the top or bottom.
Sliders to change the degree of effect on the page actions: intensify, obscure, skewed images, and transform 3d.
Ability to drag window if grabbing within the tab area if empty (assuming tabs are on top).
Private browsing! -

@g-bartsch: Did you leave the word "me" out of your comment? I think so…

Thanks. I did miss it.

I suspect the OP is using atypical settings for the assignment of mouse-button functions.
-
Two things:
1. Make tabs reach the top of the screen because it just makes it hard when you're used to getting your cursor all the way to the top then you have to move it a little bit down just to get to the tab itself.
2. Modify the Vivaldi logo so it isn't in an ugly square.
And mayyyyyybe, make the option of the tab bar being on the sides only be small instead of having it clog up the screen? Because I like having the various colors of websites be on the whole bar at the top.
-
1. History navigation mode! Opera had a way to fully cache all pages so back/forward was instantaneous!
2. Double click tab bar to create new tabs.
3. New tabs open with… (Blank page, Home page, Speed Dial)
4. Content blocker
5. Private tabs
6. Download manager in a tab
7. Map back/forward to keyboard
8. Reload every... (30 minutes, 2 hours, custom)
9. Trackpad gestures on the Mac (two finger swipe back/forward, pinch to zoom, etc.)
10. Many more...Thank you!!!

Ugly square, like in the tab? the white box? if so, that is every tab, every page

I have never used Notes before, and I like them, but I think it would be great if when loading a page, there was an indicator if you have a Note saved for that page. Maybe a small icon near the bookmark indicator, and if you clicked that icon, you could also bring up the note for editing/review.
I am sure someone else has suggested this as well, so apologies for any unintended duplication!

Can we get some h.264/h.265 love? Also, I'd like to see "Open in New Tab" have the option to leave your current tab as the foremost tab, and a lot more contrast to the tab outlines themselves (maybe even easily created user themes?)

As to your middle request, "leave current tab as foremost…" try middle-click or ctrl-click

I love Vivaldi thus far and it's well on it's way to become the only browser I need
The feature I miss most is something comparable to safari's 'reader view' or evernote's clearly. Any chance this might be implemented as feature or plugin? (preferably with a keyboard shortcut to activate it) -
Two must-haves:
- Disable auto-play for video/flash content
- When launching the browser, start with only the home page. I don't want saved sessions, thank you!
-
Anyone else ever used "The Great Suspender" from Chrome or newer Opera?
It suspends tabs reducing memory usage.
Could this be built into Vivaldi?

I'd like to request the "Close to Tray" and "Minimize to Tray" feature like with Opera 12.
We all have times where we accidentally close the browser. So this'll be a very helpful functionality especially when tab sessions were not saved prior to accidentally closing the browser.

Request:
- Bookmark opens with single click instead of double click on the bookmark side panel (or make it configurable)
Thanks!
