I think the biggest missing is the developper tools (console, request, bench, dom parser ….)

Hello, and thank you Vivaldi team! As a longtime user of Opera Presto, finding out about Vivaldi was a wonderful surprise.
I see many, if not all, of my favorite Opera features have already been planned, or at least requested in this topic. I have a request of my own, though. (If this has already been suggested, I must have missed it, sorry!)
After Opera switched to Chrome, I switched to Firefox. It was (and still is) a bit iffy to use, but there is one feature that I have come to love, and which I now use every day: Tab Groups
(see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-organize-tabs).While tab stacks serve a similar function, tab groups are in my opinion an even better way to stay organized when there are lots and lots of tabs.
I have a number of these groups in use, with related tabs in one group, like "Work", "Music", "Games", or whatever. I have one button on my toolbar, which shows the Tab Groups view, and in the normal browser view, the tab bar shows only the tabs for the selected group. This way the tab bar stays nice and uncluttered. With Opera 12, I often had my tab bar full of tabs and tab stacks, so the tabs would get really small, and it was kind of hard to know what is what.
I think this kind of tab group functionality would be great in addition to the tab stacks.

PLZ Add activate the next tab when closing a tab.Now when I close a tab Vivaldi goes to last active tab.

I'm excited to hear that the old Opera spirit is revived again :woohoo:
Hopefully I soon won't have to be using a not all to comfortable firefox with a ton of plugins to recreate some of the usability of Opera 12I'd like to see some of Opera 12's features return:
- customizability of the UI
- customizable web panels / sidebars
- feed reader
- site specific settings
- spatial navigation
- pinned tabs
- session management (save a specific set of tabs which will be restored on each startup of vivaldi)
- user scripts
I'm getting the feeling that some of these are very obvious features, but I coulnd't find a roadmap yet. Is there a roadmap available of the planned features of Vivaldi?
Keep up the good work! I'm really looking forward to the next Vivaldi releases!

Totally loving this so far!
I don't know if it's been mentioned and I'm not really willing to search :p but it would be great if the tab colour was kept when it was out of focus. Instead of fading back to totally plain grey, to keep a hint of the original active tab colour to help tell them all apart.
That would be fabulous!

Old opera had a built-in popup-blocker (for firefox there are addons). If a popup got blocked a little notifier would slide in at the bottom of the window to notify me about the blocked popup. And then, if i click on the notifier, the popup would actually open. THATS USEFUL, because its realtime. There are webpages i only visit once and i only want one popup to be opened!firefox:
With firefox the only option i have is to change the configuration for that website i actually probably visit just one time in my life. Maybe its possible to add that feature to firefox by searching one hour for the right addon. but i guess it doesnt exist after all.

The developers of Firefox have the nerve to replace the speed dial with some kind of "history log". How useful is that!? Do i always click on webpages who i was visiting yesterday? if i do so, i could just add them to a common speed dial. "Sometimes" i need to look for history-log…
However, for firefox there is an addon called "Speed Dial" (current version 0.9.6.16) and it works.- "click to play" for one element only
Face it, flash is a security hole. It must be a basic feature to block that.

With opera "click to play" worked just fine, i could enable just one flash-app on the webpage if wanted so. If there would have been any hidden flash-app on the webpage, it would not have been activated with Old opera.firefox:
For firefox that doesnt exist. If i click on a flash-app, ALL flash-elements on the webpage are starting. Thats not good enough, it is not secure. (and of course, again, i have to spend time looking for a good addon. Click-to-Play Manager 1.3.1)- Adblocker

Right-click on a webpage and then click "Edit site Preferences". I get a set of useful options who overwrite global options.firefox:
Firefox only cares for security/permission-issues there. There isnt one addon to fix that lack.Okay, thats it, these are the missing features i was most angry about. Maybe they will exist in vivaldi after two years of development
But having addons is also nice:

I'd second the request for profiles. Very useful when you have multiple logins for a site (e.g. Google - I have two work and two personal logins there).

what I think:
good, what opera 15 should have been.
like that tab grouping and mail will be integrated.what I would like :
-ctrl+shift+t to restore closed tabs
-better tab grouping, do not close all of the group when clicking the close button, be able to extend the group as in O12,
-private tabs that you can restore for a limited time (user setting) to prevent accidental closing
-key button to automatically fill forms
-save the forms being filled and restore it when the page is loaded (tried the view in 3D button, lost what I had written)
-a dark theme
-integrated rss reader
-good and innovative features that I don't know I need yet. -
I'm impressed by how stable and polished is the tech preview.
Keep up the good work!Here is my feature wishlist (not sure is some of these are already there and I missed them so… sorry if I did
):- Option to skip reloading old pages when opening the browser. I find it really annoying that I have to close all the tabs before closing the browser if I want to avoid them to be loaded again next time I start the browser!!!!!!
- Keyboard shortcuts to alter the zoom level of the current page (REALLY miss these! using the zoom slider it's not easy at all to achieve the desired zoom level since the slider is so small).
- Option to automatically switch to a page when opened in a new tab.
- Option to let me configure the downloaded files folder.
- Option to let me choose a fixed color scheme for the interface.
- Show download speed in real time for each download.
- Java plugin to use the latest JRE (unluckily, bank websites and such do require this to always be up-to-date).
Hope to see these features in the final version.

The "pin tab" function, to make the tab at the tab bar smaller and moved to the left (like in Chrome).
If there is already a function for this, please put it in the right-click menu at the tab bar.

Keyboard shortcuts in the bookmark menu would be nice. In O12, I frequently go e.g. Alt+B (bookmarks) -> D (opens folder "daily") -> O ("open all folder items") to save me a bunch of clicking.
Also, when opening a tab in the background, the tab really should go to the bottom of the stack, i.e. will be last in line for focus after closing the current tab. As-is, the opened tab goes to the top of the stack directly under the current tab, and this kind of defeats the purpose of opening tabs in the background, and also messes up the order of tabs - i.e. if you open "picture 1", "picture 2" and "picture 3" in that (the natural) order, they pop up in order 3,2,1, which is ass backwards.
Anyway, I suppose there's a valid argument whether width-first or depth-first is best, but at the very least make this behaviour an option.

more than 2 years, I am searching for a good replacement of Opera (as many others here - still running 12.17 since 6.*). I've found Vivaldi today and I have to say I'm really impressed by this Technology Preview - hey it's less preview than the stable opera 22 or what's the current version. Congratulations for really good work.After several hours of testing I am missing several features - most of them was already mentioned (It would be really good to have some list of features with poll and some road map for us - users - or did I missed it?):
- re-open closed tabs and windows (ctrl+z), list of closed windows
- more configurable mouse gestures (down-left, down, up-down, down-up…) for more actions (minimize/hide tab, open new tab, open tab in background)
- set download directory
- download to download directory or to selected directory
- open page in other browsers (really great for page testing)
- dragon fly or other debugger
- mail client
- rss client
- browsing history
- better vivadi:cache
- list of links on active page
- even better customization :evil:
But thanks for my new browser - I think I've found what I was looking for.

I'm not sure how necessary this feature is for me, but the Opera cache viewer was really nice to have.

It would be nice if there was an option to open new tab links in the background.

for the "Import bookmarks and settings", adding Chrome to it would certainly help.
Context Menu:
"Search with" and "Go to address" would be nice to have as well. Particularly it would be great if you could allow us to reorder the search engines in the context menu (something people wanted for a long time but didn't get in Opera <=12)@many:
Merge address and search bars
That last one definitely makes a lot of sense since people set keywords to search engines when they set them up, they are then accessible from the address bar already so the separate search bar is redundant and unnecessary.

I've tried to read all the feature requests, but I'm sure that some of mine have already been claimed.[ol]
- RSS integrated with advanced filtering and smart filters/folder (improved version of old Opera one)
- visual tabs/session organizer (support for multiple session has been requested already). Something similar to PANORAMA of Firefox: http://i.i.cbsi.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim//2010/08/24/firefox-panorama.jpg might also be included with bookmars…
- support/import for the old M2 Rss Database!!! (really important to me, I'm still using it)
- support for hundreds tabs… (old opera supported more than 300 at the same time, still able to perform pretty well!)
