(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests
-
The features that I would like to see implemented are:
- The ability to change the size of speed dials to any size.
- The ability to set the speed dials to auto-reload every so often.
- The ability to create a new bookmarks folder from the folder drop down menu when creating a new bookmark.

In days like these, where we have the problem of too many certificate authorities that can offer certificates for every domain out there, i would like to request application level support for DNSSEC&DANE.
Pinned certificates provide protection against states and secret services or other adversaries with influence.
They also offer additional benefits like public keys for smime, pgp and in the future possibly more.
I'd like to see vivaldi take the lead position for browsers to support this.
Would give a nice advantage over mozilla and chrome which believe that HPKP and HSTS preloading scale well enough and do not suffer enough from trust on first use issues.I also hope that Vivaldi has a light footprint and a focus on privacy.
There is no reason to reveal browserversion, operating system and wether it is a 32bit or 64bit system.
It should also be inspired by the torbrowser projects attempts to protect the users.
Especially limiting the list of fonts that a website can read from the browser. -
The main thing that drives me crazy is the inability to middle-click on the tab well to open a new tab

Any chance of this becoming a Windows 10 "Modern UI" app?
I really like what you're doing with this browser; it could be brilliant as a tablet-mode browser on my Surface Pro. There aren't any good touch-friendly browsers for Win10; this browser seems to be on the right track- but unless it's a true "Modern UI" app, touch keyboard typing suggestions and autocorrect don't work, which is a major bummer with Win10. A lot of us Surface users are dying for a great touch-friendly browser with extension support and full touch keyboard functionality.

Right-click on tab/Reopen Closed tab: Only the very last closed tab will be reopened. If you want to reopen a more ancient tab, one has to reopen all other intermediate tabs as well.
Make the tab to be reopened a choice. Opera v12 used to have it and it would be great to enhance the current feature in Vivaldi.

Try Left Click on the Trash Icon.

Been using Vivaldi for about 2 months, so far everything has gone well. But two things are driving me crazy, the first is how the address bar seems to remember everything you put in, with no sense of priority.
For instance when I type "goog", I don't want to see google.com/express, which I typed in maybe once a long time ago. I want to see Google.com. It should only remember repeat addresses, otherwise it's not intuitive at all.
Secondly I'd like to see a disable all shortcuts option, because even with single-button shortcuts off, I find that I'm still inadvertently hitting shortcuts I didn't know about. As someone who doesn't use them, it interferes with certain web applications.
Thanks

Tnx much. Didn't know about this.
-
Ok,
most of that was probably requested in few first posts, but I will repeat what is important for me:
All of these features where present in Opera 12:
- Ability to select multiple tabs (With mouse and Shift and Ctrl) in the tabs view, and move them around, reload all of them, close them all, or copy URLs of them.
- Links menu, listing all the links on current webpage, with ability to select multiple links (with mouse and Shift and Ctrl), copy them all to clipboard, or open them all at once, or download them all.
- Ability to remove "X" (close button) from every tab. I just use middle mouse button or Ctrl-W for that, "X" is just waste of space.
- Ability to remove "+" from the tab bar. I am just using Ctrl-N, or other method of opening new tabs.
- Pasting (using middle button under Linux) into free area of tab bar, should automatically open new tab with the URL from the clipboard. No need to open new tab, and then do paste & go.
- With tab grouping, is should be possible to represent groups as a 2-level tree on a tab bar, or some other panel is on a right or left side of the browser. It should be possible to collapse or expand a group, and or select many tabs (potentially from different groups), or entire groups, and do group operations on them, like move, close, reload, freeze, copy URLs, etc.
Very important:
- Option to open new tab, right next to the current one, or the group of currently (in progress opening) open ones, (before switch to it, and making a new current one), instead always at the end. Just like Opera 12.
Few that would be useful additionally:
- Be able to paste multiple URLs (one by line, with with empty lines ignored) into address bar, using Paste&Go, or using middle click into empty tab bar space, or into Download manager, to open multiple new tabs, or queue multiple URLs for download.
Few other pieces I do not like:
- Long progress bar. I do not like very wide progress bar, that make things move quickly from left to right. I would prefer, a shorter progress bar, at most 200px, at the right side of the address bar, with resource counter, and speed and download size, instead. Just like in old opera.
-
Some things I miss:
- speed dial should have more customization in terms of website pictures. I would like to have an option to display a website logo or simply text with it's name (just like on Opera) or at least option to add my own picture there. I have multiple forums pinned to the speed dial and they look kind of the same.
- option to customize how links are opened. 90% of the time I open links in background tabs and I rarely need them open in active window. So I would like to remove or rearrange options I don't use.
- new links opening behaviour options - so I would have option to choose where my new tab will be opened - to the next of the active tab or as a last tab.
- options to customize smooth scrolling behaviour.
- button to recall recently closed tabs.

I stopped at Opera 12 as it was the last version to render WAP sites. Where they still exist, they are very efficient for information eg wap.nationalrail.co.uk - especially on mobile devices. Now, not even the Android stock browser renders wap.
I like Vivaldi but i had hoped it would do WAP.
-
Dear Vivaldi team, is there a chance for a bookmark bar enhancement?
-
In other browsers such as Firefox or Opera, you can switch between bookmark folders by simple mouseover. In Vivaldi, you have to click on another bookmark folder to open it. An option to change the behaviour of this would be great.
-
Please add the possibility to open all bookmarks in a bookmark folder via middle mouse click on the folder. But it should only open the bookmarks in the root folder, not bookmarks of subfolders, too.
-
Speaking of bookmark subfolders, it should be possible to open all containing bookmarks via middle mouse click (or at least via context menu), too.

Would you please share with us the different screen resolutions you have please?
Thanks in advanceHere is my input.
Ability to set the default zoom per screen. My laptop has an insane resolution, so I need to zoom in pretty badly when Vivaldi is there, but as soon as I launch a window on the external screen, I need to zoom out.

A mobile version of Vivaldi is in our pipeline. Not sure if it'll be a WAP version though as it's disappearing in many countries. Where are you located?

Both are already available. Please check your preferences.
Clear garbage
Dark theme
Until there's an official thread up, why not use this one to tell the developers what you want to see in Vivaldi going forward.
-My main concern is the white bar on the top, it'd be nice to be able to change to a "dark theme" or just be able to change the colour in general.
-Also it seems that clicking the garbage can icon in the top right just shows the history but doesn't let you delete it. It'd would be nice to not have to open a new tab and go to history to delete/clear history. -
Is it possible to add saving a session that's in a private/incognito window?
A friend and I tend to use private window, open a bunch of tabs and then want to actually save those tabs but there's no practical solution to it in any browser. It would be great to use session manager to open 'em in a normal window.
Tried doing it today but session manager only saved the tabs which were in a normal window in the background.

- Option to place Add New Tab button [+] on a navigation bar
-
Drag to resize tiled tabs.
At first I didn’t think I’d make much use of the tiled tabs feature, but now I use it all the time, and I really wish I could redistribute the amount of space devoted to each tile, especially in grid view.

Dark theme improvements.
I think Firefox dark theme (built-in theme in FF dev. version) looks much better.Vivaldi dark theme
