Inbuilt Video Player (Like Samsung Internet Browser)
-
Could you please add inbuilt video player like the one in Samsung Internet Browser? It will be much useful to stream videos within in the browser. I hope this feature will reach the devs and include this feature in the coming updates.

For me, vivaldi would be a perfect mobile browser if support this feature.
-
I love that feature of samsung browser, I hope the devs will implement it on this beautiful browser

@me9tpro pretty sure it's not a browser feature. Rather, the browser is merely displaying the device's video decoding. This can be done in Vivaldi on desktop at least, but hard to say how easily it can be done on mobile.
To reiterate, the video player is NOT in the browser. It's on the device. Samsung, having built both the device and the browser, can take advantage of this fact. Not as easy with Vivaldi, though perhaps not impossible.

@ayespy 如果能实现但然最好,或者可以改变下思路,是否可以调用外部播放器进行播放,比如说MXplayer,nplayer等其他的播放器来实现是否更容易一些
Mod Translation: If it can be achieved but it is the best, or can change the thinking, whether it is possible to call an external player to play, such as MXplayer, nplayer and other players to achieve easier
Note: English only in the open Forum, please. You may use Chinese in the Chinese Local Forum.

@ayespy Dear moderator, samsung internet browser can be used in non samsung devices too and the inbuilt video player feature works in all mobile devices including non samsung smartphones, also I am not an samsung user so I think this feature can definitely implemented. Could you please reconsider my feature request again? Thanks!

@dhannush I'm a volunteer moderator and tester and nothing more. I don't work for Vivaldi. I'm not in a position to consider anything.
And honestly, I don't know if any of the devs Vivaldi has would be capable of coding a video player from scratch, which is what they would have to do.
But if you would like, you may submit a feature request here: https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/136/mobile
(and just so you know, Samsung, who built that browser and its video player, and designed their own Android platforms for it all to work on, is a 50-billion-dollar company with over 40,000 software engineers. A bit easier task for them than for Vivaldi with its 20-30 developers...)

@dhannush don't need build in video player just one key features auto into landscape mode when full screen video just like Firefox does is enough
P/s : my English suck -
@ayespyThere are built-in players in all browsers in China. One browser is the main purpose is to look at the video and download video. If the most basic function is not, then you still have to compete in this industry.

Perhaps Vivaldi can integrate one of the open source HYML5 video player.

Top of my wishlist is for the video to automatically expand to full screen when you click on Play or Full screen.
Brightness and volume control by swiping up and down on the left or right of the video.
Remember default playback speed and prefer video quality.
Some people might also like to be able to save the video for later viewing.
