View tabs stacks as tree in vertical tabs
-
While I like the new second tab row idea, it is not working quite well for vertical tabs. The tabs are just too compact when showing two tab columns. So my idea, add a third option to show a tabstack: show as a tree.
On the image below you can see what I mean. In this way, you can still have almost all benefits from the second tab row, but then optimized for vertical tabs. The UI designers can then also maybe add a collapse button to collapse a stack.
The only downside, you can't add a new tab to a tab that is currently not in a stack (With the second tab row you have this functionality of you make the second tab row sticky). Maybe you can create a shortcut for that called: "Add new tab to current tab(stack)" (maybe ctrl+shift+T would be a nice one for this)
Let me hear what you think about this idea.
Edit: I applied custom css to the tabs so on the image they don't look the same as the default ones.

@Vincent500 This is the same as Tree-style Tabs.

@Pesala Sorry for the duplicate, I just voted for the other one. Next time I will use my own search engine to search the forum. I never find those duplicates with the forum search.

@Vincent500 It is all about guessing the right search terms.
Try adding this link as a web panel. Alter the search term to find different topics. Two or three attempts are usually enough if the first try finds too many results.

@Pesala Thanks for the tip, that works indeed very well.
