Another interesting AI search engine (especially for developers) Perplexity told me about is PHIND.

I've tried to use this as URL for search suggestions, but it didn't work https://phind.com/api/suggestions?client=chrome&qq=%s. In the network tab of the developer tools I saw that the page is calling this URL for search suggestions.

@Catweazle I remember HotBot from way back. It was a good search engine, not so sure now...

@Pathduck I know, but the search results are correct (with an ad from Opera), not so the AI answer, the same as yours, Vivaldi is an fork of FF (good to know), but it says also that it is still in beta and not good for AI generatet content.

So far Andi is still the best

i've been using searX, in POST-mode, in my various browsers for years. over that period i've needed to change Instances several times, depending on server reliability, availability & longevity. for the past several months, no matter which Instance i've tried, & irrespective too of whether searX [project now unsupported] or searXNG, and furthermore regardless of however i might finesse my enabled search engines list within its Settings, the results have been... pretty crappy!

finally sick of it, a few days ago i experimentally reverted to a s/e i abandoned several years back, startpage, when they went over to the dark side. even once they later returned to unicorns & rose petals, i still didn't return to it, coz i dislike its ui [most especially the silly lack of infinite scroll]. however, the serious decline in searXNG results-quality for me has forced my hand, so i'll just have to live with the poor ui, if the results-quality is good... aaaaaaaaand so far, that's been great; a real breath of fresh air.

the only other niggle with it was the distasteful sponsored links at the top. no matter... thanks to uBO, they're now nuked & i no longer see them. so, whilst it's a pity [& i feel like a bit of a foss-traitor] to have had to abandon searXNG, so far startpage [in POST-mode] seems to be doing well for me.

@ybjrepnfr, try with Whoogle, instead of Startpage, Whoogle, like Startpage, use the Google engine, but without the Google crap, like Startpage has, and it's OpenSource with several public instances (list at the bottom of the GitHub page)
