Picture in Picture (PiP) - remove max size limitation
-
Hi to dev team, I very much like the "new" PiP. Other requests I have are already addressed here, but I miss one, that I think is a small one to implement.
Why limiting the PiP size? I use the popped out video on a second monitor (that I have in portrait mode) and I don't see any reason for limiting the size to 660 px.
Thanks for adding the play pause button for now at least :).
(mod edit: removed duplicate request for timebar, this request is just for max size limitation)

Limitation is still there in 3.0
-
I think better option is add limitation setting like 480p, 720p, 1080p, Custom, limit is good becouse I don't have to think about how big the window I have to do.
-
I need this. The max size limitation is totally unnecessary.

I am asking what's the point of using PiP if you want it full screen... nonsense to me. Please explain what's the actual intention?
-
They should just have made it a a pop-up window with the video full-screen, made it always on top, and so it will have all the controls people want
-
@Pathduck On my dual monitor system, that is what I do, so I do not need a larger PiP window, but on a single portrait monitor, it might be useful to have the PiP window on one half, with the web page on the other.
If fullscreen in tiled windows maximised the video in its tile. that would work even better.

Is so easy!

Fullscreen button in PIP is useful when you want to see something in full screen for a while and then return to the window

Here are some possible reasons:
- Something is happening in the video that you want to see more details of. Happens to me all the time while watching live streams. Making the PiP larger for a few seconds is way more convenient than first sending the PiP back to the browser, spending a few seconds watching, and then re-PiP-ing the video and switching back to your previous software.
Or maybe you just started running some tests of code you've just written or something and it'll take some 10-30 seconds for it to run. Same thing; much more convenient if you can just increase the size of the PiP. - Maybe whatever you are doing in the background doesn't require half your screen, so you might as well make the video larger. Happens to me occasionally, especially while coding.
- Your monitor is in portrait mode (like in OP's case) and you only use the upper or lower half of it. The other half could be filled by the PiP video.

@Komposten to each his own, I can't code AND watch a video at the same time, when I work I don't even listen to music as I need 100% concentration. And when not working and I watch a video I want it to be full screen to enjoy it fully, not in any small sized window. That's why I find the PiP totally useless for my taste, as well as I don't need more than 1 monitor as I can see one at a time anyway, I can't multitask apparently
-
@iAN-CooG I'm not sure how good I am at watching something and coding at the same time, either. Usually I'll just realise that I have no idea whatsoever what happened in the video/stream the last hour, so I'll have to rewatch it or just forget about it.
But, I do like having some background noise so I usually listen to music. Streams are for more relaxed and slow coding, when it can be nice with more interaction than music provides.
But yeah, it's not for everyone. And I'd definitely prefer to have the video/stream in fullscreen, but can't afford a second monitor right now.

Return/add option for max size please, I dont need float window. Widow 1/4 screen was perfect. Or finally ADD SIZE SAVING already! Every time I use this - window have default size and position.
