Vivaldi on Android: Beta 2
-
@uhm: A true Vivaldi user has an android phone as well, because Vivaldi users are not dinosaurs.

i mean its somehow its not calibrated for touch.

with opera or fire fox i dont have this problemthe tab bar cause this problem.
i wish they remove tab bar in tablet version
-
@look90 Is there no setting to hide the tab bar on a tablet?
-
Good morning,
I expose a problem present both in the Desktop version and in the Mobile version (where there is a special tool but it does not seem to work properly)
I often spend reading pages in various languages different from mine, unfortunately Vivaldi does not allow automatic translation.
This function is present on Vivaldi Mobile, but does not seem to work. -
@look90: Exactly what I'm talking about above. Especially annoying in vertical menus. But I guess swiping left or right to close a tab is more important than fixing an important bug on Samsung tablets.
-
@siebica Vivaldi is not yet specifically designed for tablets. That is to come.

I have chosen the "AdGuard DS(Family)" DNS server, and so also on Youtube the advertisement is suppressed, which always started before a video
I installed Blokada after reading that, but unfortunately it didn't stop the YouTube ads for me :~(
Did you tweak any other settings?
-
@mossman Did you set up Blokada as a VPN in Android?
-
@stardepp VPN is an extra there's no need for that, I think he just needs to install blokada from the official site outside Google Store, https://blokada.org/#download
-
@npro , Blokada also include a good VPN if you need (paid, β¬ 5/ month)
-
@siebica: It's being handled with high priority. Watch out for VB-53633 in the changelogs

Exactly - installed in Android, default adblock list, set DNS server to Adguard Family as mentioned... YouTube ads still there.
Edit: This is using the YouTube app... which might be trickier to block than a browser. The only other thing I can think of is Stardepp was playing YouTube through Vivaldi.

Blokada on Google Play does not carry the adblocker when it is banned from the Store, it only has the DNS changer. For this reason, you can only download the full version of the mentioned official page or F-Droid.
-
@mossman Yeah, I played Youtube on Vivaldi Android.
-
Sounds like great stuff and still more to come. Amazing.
Can't try it for a couple of days but anxious to see all the improvements on my Kindle Fire.
Great work Vivaldi Team. -
I'm really happy to hear the app is getting updated. Was hard for me to use, mostly because of how unstable it was and lack of settings that I really liked in other browser apps. I hope that add-ons like Adblock will become a thing soon too!
-
@ian-coog: My man, thank you very much οΈ
-
can you bring the feature in this video?
-
Please have the option to move the address bar in the bottom. It would be a great help for those who have tall displays. Thanks.

Hello,
I have been using Vivaldi for Android since the first release and works perfectly.
Immediately after installation, I adjusted flags "Omnibox UI Hide Steady-State URL Scheme" , "Omnibox UI Hide Steady-State URL Trivial Subdomains" and "Omnibox UI Hide Steady-State URL Path, Query, and Ref" , in order to always show the full URL (including http/https and www) .
With the Chromium update google removed these flags (as they always do) and the full URL can not be shown anymore.
I had to revert to Vivaldi 2.7.1624.277 to get the flags back...
Can you please add the same functionality as the desktop version, which allows the full url to be displayed?
