@catweazle It's easy to set up multiple mail aliases, though. I think SMS generally has a higher barrier of entry?

@paul1149 , I think that Mobile has a minor security than PC. I don't believe that 2FA is the best system to avoid interception, include a security phrase is better.

@catweazle I think part of what they have in mind, beyond the authenticity of the person logging in, is the setting up of multiple spam accounts. The higher barrier to entry SMS would be more effective for that.

@paul1149 , in another forum we have noticed that the best way to avoid spammer is to delay the confirmation email for half an hour or more. Spammers use temporary disposable emails that are usually not valid for more than this time, before deleting them, for this reason the vast majority of spambots will never receive the confirmation email.

I wanted to try vivaldi mail, but when I discover it requires an sms validation, while even services like gmail don't require phone number, it stopped me instantly. Too bad.

@hanoko Unfortunately many spammers used Vivaldi Webmail accounts in the last years when there was no verification.

i can not get them to verify my number i never get a message with the code and idk what else to do to fix it can someone help please

Sometimes the service we use to send out the SMS and local phone operators don't work well together, so the message can be delivered with a delay or not at all.
But your account seems to be verified now, so I'm guessing the SMS was delivered with a delay in your case as well.
