Constantly losing all open tabs
-
@Pesala The thing is, I am not closing Vivaldi at all, it closes itself automatically while I am not at my computer.
-
@snickerpop Tried it out, and session buddy doesn't deal with stacked tabs, which is annoying as I have a few tab stacks that I use to group similar browser windows.
-
@NemesisQ Is your Admin at work shutting down computers overnight?

Started to happen to me today with 2.8 update. I use one window with bunch of tabs open on my desktop, one window with different tabs (sites opened) on laptop and also Android mobile version, which usually stays empty when it comes to tabs. I have Sync on all devices. So, first time I noticed that bunch of tabs just disappeared and I was able to get some of them back from "Closed tabs", but second time it happened Closed Tabs appears empty. Last Session is ON and I know that it saves last session on last window (or at least I expect it to work that way), so I always utilize one window. Feels like something might get broken with recent updates.

Same case here. 2-3 first tabs (in my case pinned) always disapperar after closing the browser.
It seems corelated to the time I started using Android version. I have disabled that now.Now I'm going to try delete all synced data, sync browser, reinstall and sync back.
EDIT: Reinstall did not help. No idea what might cause this. Trying to modify file permissions.
EDIT2: Nothing helps. Tried disablin lazy loading but it also does not help. If no bug submitted I'm doing it now.

@master_kosa I don't use the Sync feature and happens randomly to me too, on both PCs at home and work.
-
@Pesala no, as all other programs I left open are still open when I come into work.

I have the same issue - my first two tabs (stacked gmail tabs) are forgotten. The weird thing is, the next two tabs (not stacked initially) then become stacked, but not forgotten if I close and re-close (and they remain stacked).

@master_kosa
Me too.
Normally I use 20 or more open site. But after instalation 2.8, every time when I close-open browser, some tabs are disappear. Not all, but part of them. After few cycle close-open, I have only 5 of open site. Worse, I don't see half site what dissapear in history!I save session and do some test. Open another 20 site, and another cycle close-open. And same effect. Tabs still disappear.

Bug reported, according to different post devs are working on it. Time to be patient...
-
I also have the problem . if it helps running 1 window with about 16 tabs. I found if I close the browser by File then Exit. All the tabs are there after reopening. If i click on the X its the same as some of you, some tabs close each time I click the X. All credit to @Pesala for the idea

@master_kosa I hope they fix it ASAP.
It's a basic feature for a browser and I don't understand how this get into a stable version -
Until this problem is fixed, I recommend that you save the opened tabs as a session and then close Vivaldi. So if you restart Vivaldi later, you can reopen the saved session. So you won't lose any tabs.
-
Guys I have the same trouble after las update. This is really dissapointing and make impossible to use browser properly because with every restart few important tabs are lost.

Yes, it works, but it's kind of crutch but not the solution.

The issue does not seem to reappear if you uninstall vivaldi and install it again.
Of course you need to either have sync enabled so it won't be a pain to get everything back or backup important things locally. At least for me that seems to have it resolved.
EDIT: after a reboot the issue is back

I have the same issue on Windows after uninstall, wipe all of the Vivaldi files from various locations on C:\ and then reinstall with new sync. The more I close/open Vivaldi the more tabs from the last session disappear. I noticed this happens to pinned tabs for me, starting from the top-left side of the tab bar. Looks like a bug to me.

indeed it only worked until a reboot of my computer, then the issue is back again.
