Post 2.7 - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1649.4
-
Can't say I'm a fan of these constant regressions. HTTP basic authentication is now broken and I cannot log into protected websites. The user/password prompt appears and disappears too quickly for a user to interact with it and supply the correct details.
Please, please fix.
-
Also when can we expect a fix for the devtools breakpoint debugger freezing the browser? I use Vivaldi as my browser of choice for everything (incl. web dev) so it would be great to have that issue resolved.

Vivaldi: 2.8.1649.4 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Revision: 3ba76f97a8d239d7c5e217d16d87ddaa383b7663
OS: Windows 10 OS Version 1903 (Build 18362.295) -
Is this bug reported?
- Open few tabs
- Evoke somehow "Confirm Form Resubmission" dialog on the last tab
- Close tab by mouse gesture (dialog is still there)
- Click any button on dialog. Crash

Compared to the previous build and Vivaldi 2.7, certain wallpapers that are used as "Window Background Image" (in vivaldi://settings/appearance/ , without blending Window Accent Colour with Image, box unticked) change now the font color of inactive tabs to dark instead of light. Example image for testing:
With Theme: Dark and this build it looks like this:
In previous build and in Vivaldi 2.7 it looks like this:
We can all agree I think that black is not visible at all with the new build and black buttons and trash can are not suitable. Don't think it's a matter of color "incompatibility" of the above example, the same thing happens with a "more appropriate" blueish, see:
This build:
Previous build & 2.7
With another wallpaper the problem is more prevalent:

Previous build & 2.7:

Darn. Still no mail.

@fred8615 But we already have calendar, although not very functional (only empty panel)
-
@gwen-dragon: I posted the OS in a follow up post. I have reverted back to 2.7.1628.30 (Stable channel) (64-bit) and the problem has gone away.
-
@potmeklecbohdan And
vivaldi://calendar
throw react errors about a function which is not linked yet to these snapshot builds -
@gwen-dragon: Okay I have done further testing and it would appear that this bug occurs ONLY when a specific extension is enabled. "Bazaarvoice Analytics Inspector"
The bug does not occur when it is disabled, however, this did not happen with the previous version of Vivaldi.
-
@gwen-dragon: For reference, this is the extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bazaarvoice-analytics-ins/olmofcadoappjkcnnhomdlnpmpbleekd
I use it as part of my web dev toolset and is super useful for debugging purposes.

We need to know the Vivaldi version you are running.
Regarding extension, maybe the thread bellow can help you: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/8129/list-of-incompatible-extensions -

Thx for the list. Luckily I do not appear to be using any incompatible extensions!

@starpaw You are welcome and thanks for the permlink. My suggestion is to start a thread (one per issue), just in case.

good morning
when zooming in on the page, hold down ctrl + mouse wheel. observe the scale numbers on the bottom right:
Experience 1- Twist once to increase, the numbers do not change.
- I twist to decrease once, the figure increases by 10%
Experience 2 - Twist once to increase, the numbers do not change.
- Once again to increase, change by 10%
- I twist to decrease once, the figure increases by 10%

Hello there,
The zoom are separated in two parts:
- UI Zoom - where you are changing
- WebPage Zoom
The number at the bottom is the page zoom, which can be set at Alt+P >> Webpages → Default Webpage Zoom
-
@valmont confirmed, it's still bugged since previous 2.7 snapshots. Ctrl-numpad * resets to the correct default both the zoom and the displayed value.
-
@lamarca: reported as VB-56694
-
@ian-coog: I was very tempted to leave the 2.7 in this time as well so that people learn that for snapshots, it really does not matter.
