Allow to place status bar on top
-
Please allow us to move the status bar on top - after or before the header, the urlbar or the bookmark bar.
-
Not sure what you mean. The status bar is at the bottom of the window, nowhere near address bar or bookmarks bar. I don't think I've ever seen a browser that had it at the top. And of course Chrome (etc.) doesn't even have one, just a floating annoying thing when you hover over stuff.

That's the reason of the request. We used to have it (see Gwen modding link for other goodies).

@fixitmanAZ The Original Opera browser (ver. 12 et prior - written by many of the same guys who are at Vivaldi) had the option to put any bar top or bottom, in pretty much any order, or even to create new toolbars for any specific purpose, and put them anywhere. Even the bookmarks bar could be put top, bottom or sides. This level of conformability to user wishes is an ultimate target of Vivaldi.

With the possibility of moving all the icons of the status bar up to the address bar (minus the zoom control), I have completely dispensed with the status bar. The zoom can also be adjusted with Ctrl + mousewheel). The address of a link appears in a small pop-up window below if you put the pointer over it.

You can move all icons of the status and adressbar with Shift + hold icon with left click
-
@Emirhan Move icons with shift+drag. Right now the only part of the address bar that can accept icons is the area to the left of the address field.

Yes, but there is enough room and allows to hide the status bar completely. Maybe later it would be possible to drag the zoom too, for example vertically in the sidebar, with this the status bar would no longer be necessary.
-
@Catweazle I don't disagree. That's where my status bar icons are at the moment - and I'm using status popup for hover notifications. I don't use zoom hardly at all, so the slider is of little use to me.
-
This I mean, I do not use the zoom too much and if I use it, I usually use it with Ctrl + Mousewheel and not with this statusbar thing

Please add an option to merge the status bar with the top interface, with these options...
- directly below the tab bar
- directly below the address bar
- directly below the bookmarks bar
This lets us merge the whole interface into one area of the screen, for efficient viewing and clicking.

Ppafflick moved this topic from Vivaldi for Renault on

It's hardly a bug, but I agree!
I almost find it weird that the status bar cannot be moved around freely, with all the focus on customization Vivaldi stands for. There might be something "special" to the status bar, possibly? -
@Nebu is not a bug, they just still have fixed position. Hopefully the mod fill this void

@Nebu Right-click on the Address Bar to customise it. Drag any elements that you need from the Status Bar and drop them onto the Address Bar (or drop some on the Panel Toolbar).

Yep, I'm aware of that. I actually discovered today that you could drag the URL bar down to the status bar and it's changed how I do everything.
