Option to show tooltip when holding Modifier key
-
There are a lot of hidden functions in Vivaldi involved Modifier key. Unfortunately most of them are unknown to most user, and that's a big waste because it's really useful & handy once we know about 'em.
I suggest an optional function to show helpful tooltip around the pointer when user holding a modifier key to inform user what V will do when left-click with modifier key pressed.
Example:
-
hover over weblink with Ctrl pressed will show tooltip: Open link in background tab
-
hover over weblink with Shift pressed will show tooltip: Open link in new tab
-
hover over text in Address field with Ctrl pressed show tooltip: Go to subdomain
Or at least made a tutorial page with all info about Modifier key.
Thanks. -

@dude99 I think a new Help Topic for Keyboard Modifiers would be easier to implement and more useful. New users would only discover the tooltips by accident if they happen to hold down the modifier keys.
Mouse Gesture Visual Hints also don't show up unless a new user begins to execute a mouse gesture by holding down the RMB and moving it in one direction.
There again, a lot of new users don't read help files so tooltips can be useful.

Yeah, but as u said most people just don't read help file, unless u feed 'em directly. Tooltip will able to feed 'em bit by bit instead of overload user with info they might not interested.
Anyway, is there a help page for Key modifier? I search the help file a bit but it seems to be missing. Also some obscure feature like MMB on reload button will Clone tab is nowhere to be found.
I wish they have some kind of wiki to include all uncommon/hidden feature of Vivaldi.

It's a good place to add any shortcuts that are not in Help. Then they might get added in the next update.

@pesala That's very hidden by itself, i think only the hardcore user know about it. LOL
