@Gwen-Dragon This is not too surpirsing after all. Opera and even its
opera:config
also just includesMail
, I think I've never seen theM2
mentioned in the compiled version itself.Still a shame, and I think that to-be Apple hardware should not be a reason to avoid this name
-
@jumpsq That
<name>
does not exist, they've killed it, it's just its corpse that is luying around as abandonware. M2 was just version 2 of the mail of the abandonware, so it doesn't make any sense using M3 at all, it doesn't have to do with Apple. Other than being a "spiritual" successor by the person who co-founded both companies there's nothing more to it. -
@npro Thing is, M2 is just the best client I have come across until today, and it will be the most important source of inspiration for vivaldi's mail client. So of course it makes sense to call it M3, even if not officially.
-
@jumpsq It simply HAS to be called M3, otherwise this entire thread will instantly vaporise.
And there was much rejoicing...
Atm = 12:53 in Oslo, ergo, only a few more hours to go before we can begin legitimately askingAny word on M4?

=> So of course it makes sense to call it M3, even if not officially.The name M3 is just a name for insiders (= former users of the abandonware who came to Vivaldi).
Naming it M3 would only lead new users to check the competitor's browser, even though the latter has nothing to do with the Abandonware for years now, which doesn't make any sense.Strictly talking Vivaldi is not obliged to meet any expectations of a previous product of another company, I hope it is clear to you.

Huh, what is this even about? I cannot follow your argument in this thread.
Let's just be excited and hope for the best, I'd say.

Naming it M3 would only lead new users to check the competitor's browser, even though the latter has nothing to do with the Abandonware for years now, which doesn't make any sense.Isn't this exactly what I said before, that even in O12 there was never a button
M2
but it was always an internal name, even though it was used at the forums? I cannot remember if O9.5 may have had it, but nobody is going to enrage about a name and whether it's used officially or not, I hope?! -
@Steffie Already had one with only +709% interest in my favorite app, very nice, I count even as a user for the shareholders to be happy so that they can provide me my favorite hipster browser as well, but thanks anyway Government's black list is anyway overreated.
