M3 could come as an option

Just like Tab Stacking, Web Panels, Sync, or other built-in features, the built-in mail client will be optional. If you don't need it, then you don't need to use it.

@liyann It will be integrated, not an extension. However, it will come turned off, and have no effect on the browser unless a user opts to activate it by creating an account in it. Having done so, one will still have the option to delete the account(s) and turn it off again. In fact, one will be able to disable it even without deleting accounts.

@saudiqbal Nope. It will come when it is ready - and you will not have the slightest hint that it is coming until it arrives. But I can say with confidence, NOT the next build. Sorry.

Email client is already in the cloud for most, we don't need it in the browser as extra memory hog.

Btw I love hearing not the next build. I love honesty the most. We don't except it in the next as we got said it will not be in the next so it will give us all breathing room.

And this is why I have no worries "However, it will come turned off, and have no effect on the browser unless a user opts to activate it by creating an account in it."

This is an important point. Thanks for this clarification.

I forgot to tell you an important detail: M3 is already in Vivaldi. However is not activated for everyone.

@saudiqbal unfortunately the "code" that you need to do it is the actual "M3" code itself. All there is right now is the backend code (as far as I can tell) but none of the ui code is included with the build.

@LonM The whole backend code is in there? Easy, let's build our own UI ^^
