@zhnujm There is an email client. It's not ready for release yet.

@zhnujm There surely will be, when it's ready. They have invested way too much effort in the email client to drop it.

I hope so, but i dont think so....

Of course there is an email client, but it wont be released.
If it cant be done in nearly 4 years it will never be done.

@zhnujm You're entitled to your opinion. It's not accurate, but you're entitled to it.

@para-noid Progress doesn't mean always moving forward. M3 development is continuous:)

@lamarca "In Progress" doesn't mean it's ready yet. Just that it's being worked on.
FWIW, I like to check-in on the "In Progress" to see what's what.
That said, we know M3 is getting worked on. How far along? I'm not even guessing.

@para-noid English is not my mother tongue. In Progress means getting better.
Every software is a work in progress. M3 is completely different. It's not a stand alone, it's a component of Vivaldi.

Funny thing for those who keep saying "it's coming." In Settings, Keyboard Shortcuts, under View, there were settings for Contact and Mail panels. They didn't do anything, but they were there. But as of 2.0, they're not anymore. Why would they remove them now, after all this time? At the very least, it suggests Mail isn't coming any time soon.

@fred8615 Nah, that says nothing. It was probably an oversight to put them there. We used to have a mail panel in the pre-release versions 3 years ago. When opened it said "mail coming soon", or something along those lines.

I understand your frustration about the wait. One thing I have learned over the years is that things sometimes take longer than one would hope. But I do not remember a project I worked on that did not get delivered. Delayed, sure, but always delivered. When you aim high, sometimes things take longer.

We have a group of great guys working on this. We continue to improve the base and to polish the UI. M3 gets closer each day, even as we go through some rounds of refactoring code and rewrites. We want M3 to be great and it will be. In many ways it already is, meaning the version I have been using for quite some time now. Soon...

@fred8615 They weren't supposed to have been there in the first place. This was just housekeeping.

@ayespy I prefer think to them as "leaked easter eggs of UI Mail" 😕

I really hope that we will get M3 soon as I am still using Opera12.17 (M2) for all my emails. Now I have the situation that I cannot install it in Ubuntu 18.04 anymore due to dependency problems.
So if there is no M3 in the near future I will have to revert to Thunderbird...

It should be about time to bring out M3 after years in development.
