Vivaldi 2.0 RC 2 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1309.25
-
@maxrunner Go through the snapshots blog, and have a look at each of the posts. 2.0 will be the first public release of features created for the 1.16 snapshots as well.

As said in the last snapshot:
I still cant switch tabs normally with right-click + scroll and it seems it got even worse with this snapshot.
Vivaldi mostly does not respond at all to the action, sometimes just scrolls the page or switches tabs heavily delayed and sometimes jumps two or more tabs with only one scroll to the next position.Easy example:
Scroll to the tab left from the current one (RMB + scroll up) and then back (RMB + scroll down) without releasing the RMB.
Try that a few times if it works the first time.
At least for me the switch back is often heavily delayed. -
Really liking the railroad track theme you have going for the last two 2.0 snapshots. Keep it going!
-
@pelaird IMO it's better when every image is differrent :-).
-
@potmeklecbohdan: well this was kinda a joke. The RCs are largely the same but the second one is better. Same with the image.
-
@ruario: At least you're managing to stay on track.

When I resize a window on macOS the left side aligns with the left side of the screen. This is the first time I noticed it, I think it happened with this update. Is this on purpose? If so, why? I don't see the immediate benefit. Say the window is small and in the middle of my screen, I try to resize to make it even smaller, but instead it will enlarge to fill out the missing space until it reaches the left border of the screen.
Edit: I tried around a bit some more and it seems like it remembers its position and is therefore hard to resize and place correctly… It's definitely a new "feature".

3 Showstoppers found within the first week?OK, maybe not three, but is anyone else a little nervous about the biggest leap to date?
-
@rseiler no idea what you're talking about, which showstoppers?
-
Focus problem VB-43671 still not fixed.
-
Time for M3 after Vivaldi 2.
-
Moving a tab with stacked tiles to an existing second window crashes all Vivaldi windows. I can reproduce this every time.
-
@rhk Thanks. This reproduces slightly differently for me on macOS but I can confirm the crash and am filing a bug.

@rseiler Tell me more about your "pet bugs* (aka showstoppers).
Wow, going right to "pet bugs," in quotes. "Nice." Note to self for future reference: anyone's bug is a pet bug.
Note the "found within the first week" part.
2.0 hasn't launched yet. The first week hasn't happened yet.
What I'm referring to are things we don't know yet but wish we did--before launch. You know, unknown unknowns.
Except this time it's a much bigger update, so it seems to me the probability is higher than it's ever been.

Anyone noticed, that images from facebook chat window are loading extremly long? It is like that few builds. Maybe it is because of some Chromium 69 update.
-
@enc0re I though it was my connection playing tricks but yeah, I see since some weeks some sites like facebook and tumblr occasionally loading really slow (20-30 kb/s) while from Youtube I get constant 880kb/s over my not so fast 7mbit adsl connection.
